For one morning, the next generation stepped into the Mota-Engil world. And they had a mission: explore, build, create and discover.

At Bring Your Kids to Work, our colleagues’ children became Little Engineers for the day. Through challenges, teamwork and plenty of creativity, they discovered the world where their parents help build the future, every day.

But last friday morning was about more than discovering what we do. It was about bringing two worlds closer together: work and family.

A chance for our youngest guests to see where their parents spend so much of their day, experience a little of what they do, and finally understand what “I’m going to work” really means.

As Mota-Engil celebrates 80 years, we opened our doors to a new generation. Because legacy isn’t only about what we build.

It’s about what we inspire others to build next.

MEXT joins the jury of the ClimateLaunchpad 2026 National Final

Francisco Morais Lopes, Head of VC Investments & Venture Building, served on the jury evaluating some of Portugal’s most promising climate tech startups.

The experience offered a close look at emerging technologies, innovative business models and new approaches to environmental and sustainability challenges, reinforcing the value of staying close to the teams and solutions shaping the future of climate innovation.

Some say the best ideas come during a break.
We believe the best connections do too.

Ice Cream Day took us to our offices in Porto and Lisbon, the Avenue Campo Grande project site, the Central Laboratory, and the Canelas construction site, offering a different kind of break to the people who bring our operations to life every day.

Between ice creams and conversations, we created moments of connection that do not always fit into the agenda but make all the difference in the way we work together.

Because a strong culture is built every day. Through major challenges, but also through small gestures. In the way we collaborate, recognise one another, and make time to come together.

Thank you to everyone who joined this refreshing break. After all, the best moments, just like the best teams, are the ones shared together. 🍦

Padel, team spirit and solidarity 🎾💙

On 11 July, Mota-Engil hosted the Lisbon Solidarity Padel Tournament at the W Padel Country Club.
Throughout the afternoon, 32 employees, organised into 16 teams, came together on and off the court for an event defined by friendly competition, great team spirit and a shared commitment to supporting a meaningful cause.

Thanks to the contribution of all participants, we were able to donate the equivalent of 32 care kits to Ajuda de Berço, an organisation that provides a safe and nurturing environment for babies and children at risk.

More than a tournament, this initiative showed how sport can bring people together to create a positive impact in the community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event possible.

Turning waste into value — and rethinking how we build.

MEXT: Mota-Engil Next and everox have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the potential of concrete upcycling in Portugal, transforming construction waste into new, valuable materials.

This collaboration marks the beginning of an exploratory phase focused on assessing how everox’s technology can be applied locally, in alignment with the Group’s innovation and sustainability strategy.

Concrete upcycling enables the recovery of materials from construction waste, allowing them to partially replace primary resources such as gravel, sand, and cement — contributing to more circular construction practices and lower CO₂ emissions.

By combining Mota-Engil’s experience and local presence with everox’s technology, we aim to better understand the potential of this solution within the construction sector and support the transition towards more sustainable and resource-efficient processes.
