The new owners of this property quickly discovered how ineffective a grid coupled self consumption system is in remote locations with an unstable grid. It was an easy choice to re use the solar panels and add a powerful Victron 15kva inverter with 20kWh ZYC batteries to create a fully off grid capable power supply. Now we can interact with the wayward grid voltages whilst maintaining uninterrupted power to the house. Stage 2 will be more panels and batteries. Victron Remote Monitoring will give us all the data we need.

Even the biggest systems can start off small! It's early days for this project so 5.8kWp of solar, 12kWh batteries and a 6kva Victron RS multi installed in a shipping container is more than enough to support living and working on site during the development stage.
