IPROLAM a name, an acronym that translates in destinies, lives, careers, occasional setbacks and final accomplishments, which signifies for all those acquainted an intelligence core, an exceptional creative potential, a school that trains professionals and builds characters. IPROLAM was established - in JULY 1, 1959 - out of Romania's desire to reconstruct, modernize and develop its metal processi

ng industry, by uniting the groups of designers specialized in the "pipes" sectors of REPUBLICA and IPROMET Plants, Bucharest. The newly formed collective - around 320 individuals - has rapidly obtained impressive results during the construction and modernization of a number of rolling mills. The professional acknowledgement - in the context of the time - led IPROLAM to become, already from the beginning of its activity, an "exporter" of Romanian technical intelligence, through the designing and commissioning of a pipe mill in Korea. This was an important success that led IPROLAM to build up self-confidence, to ascertain a true technical personality of its own, and to approach with courage all the specific issues of its field of work.
