While domestic energy production declined by ๐ฎ.๐ฒ%, renewable electricity generation increased significantly.
Solar led the growth:

Meanwhile, thermal generation fell by ๐ฑ.๐ต% and nuclear production by ๐ญ๐ญ.๐ณ%.
Solarโs rapid growth follows the addition of around ๐ฎ,๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ช of photovoltaic capacity in 2025, including approximately ๐ญ,๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ช from prosumers.
Electricity consumption also declined, with final consumption down ๐ฏ.๐ฏ% and household consumption down ๐ญ๐ญ.๐ด%. The rapid growth of prosumers likely contributed to this decline, with installed capacity rising from around ๐ด๐ฑ ๐ ๐ช at the end of 2021 to more than ๐ฏ,๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ ๐ช by early 2026.
The numbers show a Romanian power system that is gradually shifting toward a larger renewable contribution, even as overall production and consumption patterns continue to change.
