NOVATEK

NOVATEK JSC NOVATEK is Russia’s largest independent natural gas producer. Official page. Our reserve replacement rate for the last five years was above 600%.

Geography
Our principal operating areas are concentrated in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region (YNAO) in Western Siberia. The YNAO is the most significant gas producing region in Russia, accounting for approximately 90% of Russia’s natural gas production and approximately 17% of global gas production. Hydrocarbons Reserves
As of 31 December 2012, we had 12.4 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe

) of SEC proved reserves. Most of our reserves are located onshore or can be developed from onshore locations and are attributed to the conventional categories. Geological Exploration
We aim to expand our resource base through geological exploration at fields and license areas not only in close proximity to existing transportation and production infrastructure, but also in new potentially prospective hydrocarbon areas. In the last 5 years we discovered 7 new fields and 61 new deposits. The organic replacement rate (excluding acquisitions) of our proved reserves amounted to 186%. Hydrocarbon Production
We carry commercial production of hydrocarbons at six fields. Our three core fields—Yurkharovskoye, East-Tarkosalinskoye and Khancheyskoye — accounted for approximately 90% of our production volumes in 2012. Our total production of marketable hydrocarbons amounted to 405 mm boe in 2012. In the last five years our hydrocarbon production grew at the compound annual growth rate of 14%. Gas Condensate Processing
We process our unstable gas condensate at our Purovsky Plant, which produces stable gas condensate and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). In June 2013 we launched processing of stable gas condensate at the newly built Ust-Luga Complex on the Baltic Sea. The Complex produces light and heavy naphtha, jet fuel, diesel fuel and heating/ship fuel. Hydrocarbon Marketing
We sell our natural gas to end customers in the Russian Federation (power generation companies, industrial users, regional gas distributors) and to gas traders. Stable gas condensate products are sold internationally, whereas our LPG and crude oil are sold domestically and internationally. Financial Results
We generate revenues primarily from natural gas and stable gas condensate product sales and, to a lesser extent, sales of other liquid hydrocarbons. Our total revenues and EBITDA in 2012 amounted 211 bln RUB and 95.2 bln RUB respectively. Shares and Credit Ratings
Shares of NOVATEK are listed on the Moscow Exchange and the London Stock Exchange (in form of GDR). NOVATEK has investment grade credit ratings from the three leading credit rating agencies - Moody’s Investor Services (Baa3), Standard & Poor’s (BBB-) and Fitch Ratings (BBB-). Business Strategy
Our strategy is to maintain our position as the leading independent natural gas producer in Russia, based on increasing our hydrocarbon production, while expanding our resource base, optimizing our marketing channels and exploring new projects.

Unique NSR Voyage Delivers a Module for Arctic LNG 2

he Arc7 ice-class module carrier AUDAX completed its voyage along the Northern Sea Route (NSR) long after the traditional navigation season closure, to deliver a process module weighing almost 12,000 tonnes for Arctic LNG 2 from the Chinese port of Tianjin to Murmansk. The module will be installed on the gravity-based structure (GBS) for Arctic LNG 2 Train 1 at the LNG Construction Center in Belokamenka.

This voyage is unique in terms of a vessel of this size passing the entire Northern Sea Route with a nuclear icebreaker support in February in challenging ice conditions. The Atomflot icebreakers escorted the vessel along the Northern Sea Route. The icebreaker assistance was difficult largely due to navigation specifics during winter 2022. The current NSR navigation season saw severer ice conditions compared to previous years and the summer-fall navigation period ended in the beginning of November 2021, much earlier than in previous years. Due to the size of AUDAX, icebreaker assistance in the route's most challenging sections in the Chukchi, East Siberian and Kara Seas involved two icebreakers widening the ice channel.

NOVATEK Creates a Subsidiary to Develop Domestic LNG Fuel Market
Moscow, 15 July 2021. The Board of Directors of PAO NOVATEK (“NOVATEK” and/or the “Company”) resolved to create a subsidiary called NOVATEK – LNG Fuel, which will construct small-scale LNG plants, facilitate LNG wholesale markets and develop a retail network for LNG as a motor fuel, as well as provide LNG as part of the autonomous gasification program in the Russian domestic market.

NOVATEK has been actively developing the production and sales of LNG as a motor fuel. In 2020, the Company launched a small-scale LNG plant in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region with a capacity of 40 thousand tons per annum. Presently, the Company owns 12 LNG fueling stations in Russia and plans to further expand the production and distribution networks for clean-burning fuels for transport.

"We are creating a dedicated subsidiary to develop the domestic LNG fuel market as part of our commercial marketing strategy," noted Leonid Mikhelson, NOVATEK’s Chairman of the Management Board. “The use of LNG as a motor fuel can reduce carbon emissions compared to diesel or other petrol products, as well as significantly reduce harmful particles emitted into the atmosphere, which contributes to the decarbonization of the transport industry and the protection of the environment."
