Surveying is ONE profession please stop dividing it.
Pipeline, road, railway, building line, and fabrication are not separate surveyor professions. These are different project types, all covered under the same surveying profession.
A surveyor is a surveyor.
The fundamentals never change: coordinates, levels, alignment, setting out, and verification as per drawings and standards. Only the drawings and project requirements change.
A qualified surveyor does not need a new title for every job.
Give the surveyor the approved drawings, control points, and specifications, and the work can be done correctly whether it's pipeline, road, railway, building, or fabrication.
Creating artificial labels spreads wrong information, confuses people, and downgrades the value of surveying.
Surveying is a complete profession. Respect the profession. Respect the knowledge.
