يواصل مركز الدراسات والتراث العمراني في "أفنية" تطوير برامجه البحثية والمهنية في مجالات التراث العمراني والحفاظ المعماري، مستنداً إلى منظومة متكاملة ترتكز على البحث والابتكار واستشراف مستقبل القطاع.

وفي هذا السياق، يستعد المركز خلال الربع الثالث لإطلاق حزمة من الخدمات المتخصصة في توثيق وتسجيل مواقع التراث العالمي، وتأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن منظومة من الحلول التأهيلية والاستشارية المصممة لدعم الجهات والمؤسسات العاملة في قطاع التراث والآثار.

وتكاملًا مع هذه الجهود، يعمل المركز على ابتكار حلول متقدمة لتصميم وتأهيل المدن التراثية وإعادة إحيائها عمرانياً وثقافياً؛ بما يسهم في تعزيز الهوية المحلية والمحافظة على القيمة التاريخية للمكان، وفق رؤى معاصرة تراعي الأبعاد الثقافية، والاجتماعية، والاقتصادية.

The Center for Urban Studies and Architectural Heritage at "Afniah" continues to develop its research and professional programs in the fields of urban heritage and architectural conservation. This development is anchored in an integrated framework built upon research, innovation, and foresight into the sector's future.

In this context, the Center is preparing to launch a suite of specialized services for documenting and registering World Heritage sites during the third quarter. This step is part of an integrated ecosystem of rehabilitative and advisory solutions designed to support entities and institutions operating within the heritage and antiquities sector.

Complementing these efforts, the Center is working on developing advanced solutions for designing, rehabilitating, and urbanistically and culturally revitalizing heritage cities. This aims to enhance local identity and preserve the historical value of the sites, in accordance with contemporary visions that consider cultural, social, and economic dimensions.

These directions come in response to the rapid growth in the heritage sector and to meet the increasing demands of the labor market in the fields of conservation and cultural development. They also reflect the Center's continuous endeavors to expand the scope of its research and specializations in Islamic architecture, as well as preserving its historical buildings and sites as an authentic part of cultural memory.

يواصل فريق "أفنية" وضع اللمسات الأخيرة على مشروع مستشفى المواساة بمدينة جدة، والذي يُتوقع أن يكون جاهزاً للتسليم الابتدائي بنهاية شهر يونيو المقبل.

وقد جرى تطوير المشروع وفق أعلى المعايير الهندسية والطبية العالمية، بعناية دقيقة تجمع بين الحداثة المعمارية والتطور التقني، بما يعكس رؤية متقدمة ترتقي بتجربة الرعاية الصحية وجوّها العلاجي. ويشكل هذا المشروع إضافة نوعية للمدينة؛ إذ يقدّم نموذجاً معمارياً وطبياً متكاملاً يسهم في تعزيز جودة الخدمات الطبية، ويضع تجربة المريض وراحته في المقام الأول.

The "Afniah" team is putting the final touches on the Al-Mouwasat Hospital project in Jeddah, which is slated for initial handover by the end of this coming June.

Developed in accordance with the highest international engineering and medical standards, the project meticulously blends architectural modernity with advanced healthcare technologies, reflecting a forward-thinking vision that elevates the medical care experience. This project represents a qualitative addition to the city of Jeddah, serving as a model that integrates healing environments with functional architecture to enhance the quality of medical services and optimize the patient journey within a modern, comprehensive care facility.

تتشرف أفنية برعايتها الرسمية للمعرض السنوي لكلية الهندسة المعمارية والتصميم الرقمي بجامعة دار العلوم، والمقام في مؤسسة مسك يومي (18-19) مايو، حيث يشهد الحدث سلسلة من الحوارات الفنية والنقاشات العلمية المتخصصة، إلى جانب المعرض المصاحب لأعمال الطلبة ومشاريعهم. وتأتي مشاركة "أفنية" في هذا المحفل عبر تقديم محاضرات تخصصية، وجناح يستعرض أبرز مشاريعها وإنجازاتها المهنية ترسيخاً لدورها في دعم المعرفة المعمارية، وتمكين الجيل الجديد من المصممين، ومدّ جسور التواصل بين الممارسة المهنية والبيئة الأكاديمية.

يُعيد هذا المشروع صياغة الفراغ المكتبي برؤية تتجاوز "الوظيفة" إلى صناعة فضاء محفّز للإبداع، تتكامل فيه التجربة الحسية مع كفاءة الأداء. وقد صُممت المكاتب كبيئة معماريّة حيّة تعزز التفاعل بين المستخدم والمكان، ضمن لغة بصرية تجمع بين الحداثة والبساطة.

تتمحور فكرة التصميم حول خلق "امتداد معاصر" لمشروع قائم، لا كإضافة شكلية، بل كإعادة تفسير للنظام المعماري بروح حديثة تضمن استمرارية الهوية وتطورها. ومن هذا المنطلق، دُمجت الكتلة والفراغ لإنتاج تجربة مكانية متجددة تدفع بالمشروع نحو المستقبل.

يمتد المشروع على مساحة 33,000 متر مربع من المكاتب المرنة والمصممة وفق أعلى معايير الكفاءة، يكملها فندق أعمال (4 نجوم) يضم 140 غرفة. ويرتبط الفندق بالمكاتب بشكل مباشر ليشكل منظومة متكاملة تعزز حيوية المكان وتدعم الاستخدامات المتعددة.

في جوهره، يطرح المشروع نموذجاً ملهماً لبيئات العمل الحديثة، محولاً الاحتياجات الوظيفية إلى فضاء معماري متوازن يستلهم من السياق ويُعيد تعريف العلاقة بين العمل والفراغ.

This project redefines office environments by transcending "functionality" to create an inspiring space where sensory experience meets operational efficiency. Designed as a living architectural ecosystem, these offices foster seamless interaction between the user and the space, embodying a design language that balances modernity with minimalist elegance.

The core design concept revolves around crafting a "contemporary extension" to an existing project—not merely as a physical addition, but as a modern reinterpretation of the established architectural system. By integrating mass and void, the design reproduces a spatial experience that preserves the project’s identity while propelling it toward the future.

Spanning approximately 33,000 square meters, the workspace is engineered for high efficiency and flexibility to meet the demands of modern business. Complementing this urban fabric is a 4-star business hotel featuring 140 rooms, directly integrated with the office blocks to form a cohesive, mixed-use ecosystem that enhances the vitality of the site.

At its heart, the project represents a transformative spatial experience, reimagining the relationship between work and space. It offers a contemporary model for professional environments that draw inspiration from their context, translating user needs into a balanced and visionary architectural sanctuary.

يمثل هذا المشروع قراءة معاصرة لعمارة الساحل الشرقي، تنطلق من فهم العلاقة بين الامتداد الرملي والخط البحري بوصفهما عنصرين يشكلان هوية المكان وطبيعته البصرية. ولم يكن الهدف استحضار مفردات التراث العمراني بصيغتها التقليدية، بل إعادة تفسيرها ضمن لغة معمارية حديثة تستجيب لروح الموقع وظروفه البيئية.

انبثقت الفكرة التصميمية من محاكاة التلاقي بين الرمال والشاطئ، حيث تم تطوير كتلة معمارية تنسجم مع الأرض وتتعامل معها كامتداد طبيعي للمشهد المحيط. وبهذا، جاء المبنى ليعكس حالة من الانسياب والهدوء، مع توازن واضح بين عناصر الظل والكتلة والفراغ، بما يعزز الإحساس بالحماية والانفتاح في آن واحد.

ويمتد المشروع على مساحة تقارب 6500 متر مربع، ليقدم نموذجًا لمبنى مكتبي معاصر يجمع بين التقنية والهوية المحلية، من خلال حلول تصميمية تعزز الكفاءة البيئية وتدعم تجربة المستخدم. كما تم التركيز على تحقيق تواصل بصري مستمر بين الداخل والخارج عبر فراغات مدروسة تسمح بتدفق الضوء الطبيعي وتعزيز العلاقة مع المحيط.

ويسعى المشروع إلى تقديم تجربة مكانية متكاملة تعكس عمق عمارة الساحل الشرقي، وتطرح رؤية لعمارة سعودية معاصرة تنطلق من البيئة المحلية وتعيد صياغتها بلغة حديثة تجمع بين الأصالة والابتكار.

This project represents a contemporary interpretation of Eastern Coast architecture, inspired by the relationship between the sandy landscape and the shoreline as defining elements of the site’s identity and visual character. Rather than replicating traditional architectural elements in their conventional form, the design reinterprets them through a contemporary architectural language that responds to the spirit of the place and its environmental conditions.

The design concept emerged from the interaction between sand and sea, resulting in an architectural mass that integrates naturally with the land and responds to it as an extension of the surrounding landscape. As a result, the building reflects a sense of fluidity and calmness, with a balanced composition of shadow, mass, and void that enhances both openness and protection.

Spanning approximately 6,500 square meters, the project presents a contemporary office building that combines technology with local identity through design solutions that enhance environmental performance and support user experience. Attention was given to creating continuous visual connectivity between interior and exterior spaces through carefully designed openings that allow natural light to flow while strengthening the relationship with the surrounding environment.

At its core, the project seeks to create an integrated spatial experience that reflects the depth of Eastern Coast architecture while presenting a vision for contemporary Saudi architecture rooted in the local environment and redefined through a modern language that balances authenticity and innovation.

يقدم المشروع مساكن ساحلية فاخرة بتجربة معمارية متقدمة على أحد سواحل المملكة، تجمع بين الخصوصية والتفرّد، وتستهدف النخب العالمية.

يرتكز التصميم على تحقيق توازن بين الاندماج مع البيئة الساحلية وتقديم رؤية معمارية تعكس مستقبل العمارة السعودية، دون الاعتماد على شكل أيقوني، بل عبر لغة تنبع من الموقع نفسه.

انطلقت الفكرة من قراءة طبيعة الموقع، حيث تم التعامل مع المشروع كامتداد للأرض. لذلك اعتمد التصميم على “الاختفاء الجزئي” عبر فتحات مدروسة تسمح بدخول الضوء والهواء مع الحفاظ على الخصوصية.

وتنسجم الكتل المعمارية مع تضاريس الموقع، لتخلق تجربة يشعر فيها المستخدم بأن العمارة جزء من الطبيعة، مع إعادة تعريف العلاقة بين الداخل والخارج ضمن لغة معاصرة.

في جوهره، يقدّم المشروع رؤية لعمارة سعودية مستقبلية تنطلق من المكان وتجمع بين الهوية والانفتاح.

This project presents a collection of luxury coastal residences offering an advanced architectural experience along the Kingdom’s shoreline, combining exclusivity and privacy for a global elite audience.

The design is driven by a balance between integration with the coastal environment and a forward-looking architectural vision that reflects the future of Saudi architecture. Rather than relying on an iconic form, the project develops a language derived from the site itself.

The concept originates from a deep reading of the coastal context, treating the project as an extension of the land. This led to a “partial concealment” strategy, using carefully designed openings that allow natural light and ventilation while preserving privacy.

The architectural masses are shaped in harmony with the site’s topography, creating a spatial experience where architecture feels embedded within nature. This approach redefines the relationship between interior and exterior through a contemporary architectural language rooted in local identity.

At its core, the project proposes a future vision of Saudi architecture—grounded in place, responsive to its environment, and open to global influence without losing its roots.

يمثل مفهوم «العيادات العائلية» (Family of Clinics) تحولاً في تخطيط العيادات داخل المستشفيات، إذ لم تعد العيادات تُنظَّم كوحدات منفصلة، بل كمنظومات مترابطة تقوم على تجميع التخصصات الطبية المتقاربة ضمن بيئة علاجية واحدة تُحاكي رحلة المريض وتختصر الجهد والزمن. وقد طورت أفنية هذا المفهوم اعتماداً على دراسة حركة المراجعين داخل المستشفيات، بحيث تعمل العيادات كوحدات علاجية متكاملة تضم التخصصات والخدمات المساندة المرتبطة ببعضها. فعلى سبيل المثال، تُجمع عيادات السكري مع القلب، والقدم السكرية، والتغذية، والتثقيف الصحي، والتحاليل السريعة ضمن نطاق واحد، بما يعزز سرعة اتخاذ القرار الطبي ويقلل من تنقل المريض.

كما لا يقتصر المفهوم على التجاور الوظيفي، بل يمتد إلى بناء بيئة أكثر إنسانية ووضوحاً تعتمد على سهولة الحركة وتقليل التعقيد داخل المستشفى، مما ينعكس على جودة التجربة الطبية وكفاءة التشغيل. ومن الناحية التخطيطية، يوفر هذا التوجه مرونة مستقبلية في التوسع وإعادة التنظيم، ويعزز مفهوم الطب المتكامل القائم على ترابط التخصصات بدلاً من عزلها.

The “Family of Clinics” concept represents a shift in the traditional planning of hospital outpatient clinics. Rather than organizing clinics as isolated units, this approach creates interconnected medical environments that group related specialties within a single treatment setting, reflecting the patient’s actual care journey while reducing time, effort, and unnecessary movement. Afniah developed this concept through the study of patient movement patterns and user behavior within hospitals, allowing clinics to function as integrated treatment units that combine primary specialties with their supporting services. For example, diabetes clinics relate to cardiology, diabetic foot care, nutrition, health education, and rapid laboratory services within one unified zone, improving clinical decision-making and minimizing patient transfers.

The concept also goes beyond functional adjacency by creating a more human-centered and accessible environment based on ease of movement, visual clarity, and reduced institutional complexity. This improves both the patient's experience and operational efficiency. From a planning perspective, the Family of Clinics model provides future flexibility for expansion and reorganization, while reinforcing an integrated healthcare approach based on collaboration between medical specialties rather than their separation.

من خلال مسيرتها المهنية، حرصت أفنية على بناء بيئة معرفية قائمة على الحوار والتطوير المستمر، حيث نظّمت وشاركت في العديد من ورش العمل المهنية والفكرية التي أسهمت في تشكيل جزء مهم من توجهاتها المعمارية. وقد انعكست هذه التجارب على تطور رؤيتها التصميمية ومقاربتها للعمارة المحلية والمعاصرة.

ومن بين أبرز هذه المبادرات، ورش العمل التي أُقيمت عام 2019م حول عمارة السعودية، والتي شكّلت مساحة للتبادل الفكري والبحثي بين أفنية والناقد والمفكر المعماري جيمس ستيل، بالتعاون مع د. مشاري النعيم. وقد تناولت هذه اللقاءات عدداً من القضايا المرتبطة بالهوية المعمارية السعودية، والتحولات العمرانية، إضافة إلى استكشاف إمكانات تطوير العمارة المحلية ضمن إطار معاصر يحافظ على أصالة المكان وروحه الثقافية.

Throughout its professional journey, Afania has been committed to building a knowledge-driven environment grounded in dialogue and continuous development. The firm has organized and participated in numerous professional and intellectual workshops that have played a significant role in shaping its architectural direction. These experiences are clearly reflected in the evolution of its design vision and its approach to both local and contemporary architecture.

Among the most notable of these initiatives were the workshops held in 2019 on Saudi architecture, which created a platform for intellectual and research exchange between Afania and the architectural critic and thinker James Steele, in collaboration with Dr. Mashary Al Naim. These sessions addressed a number of key topics related to Saudi architectural identity, urban transformations, and the potential for developing local architecture within a contemporary framework that preserves the authenticity and cultural spirit of place.
