What is a Project Management Network?
A project management network is a graphical representation of project activities and the logical relationships between them. It shows the sequence in which activities must be performed, their dependencies, and the order in which a project can be completed.
It is used in project planning, scheduling, and controlling to identify the critical path and estimate the total project duration.
Main Components
1) Activities: Tasks that must be completed, such as excavation or concreting.
2) Events or Nodes: Points representing the start or completion of activities, depending on the network method.
3) Dependencies: Relationships showing which activities must finish or start before others.
4) Critical Path: The longest-duration path through the network, which determines the minimum project completion time.
