Dear Aerosport Engineering followers, if there is anyone left.
As you already understand, I am not very active posting on sosial platforms. We will try to do better in that regard for the future, not every day, but maybe once a week.
When that is said, the Aerosport team has not been resting. We have been working continusley and long hours for the last three years on our Propeller Speed Reduction Units project. We have spent the time refining and adjusting this magnifisent Jack Kane designed PSRU to new customers' needs and spesifications.
We have also sorced the very unique materials for the different components, this with extensive help from our eminent metalurg, Fredrik Haakonsen. Further more, we have found the right manufaturing partners to help us produce the very vital and many different internal and external components in this gear box.
Fast forward to 2025, where we have performed a long term and extensive testing on one of our customer gears with great sucsess.
After testing the actual PSRU were disassembled for inspection by the Approval Body, Bureau Veritas. After several vissits on site here in Båstad, Norway, Bureau Veritas issued to us a Type Approval Certificate for the Mark 15 PSRU.
The testing required yet another specialized test rig. We started looking for a "Test Mule" and ended up finding an old 6,0 Lt LS based Chevrolet V8. We gave this old buddy some TLC before installing it into the newly built rig. From beeing the power plant in an old Chevrolet Suburban running most of the time slightly above idle, it has during the entire summer run on full throttle, hours on end, and to our great surprise and delight, without a single hickup! But, man, did that engine get cleaned up internally! The pile of contaminated filters and black oil kept growing throughout the summer.
Anyone looking for Ole could just follow the sound of the big MT propeller resonating through the valley.
Maybe you will find us at Aero Friedrichshafen.
See you soon with a new update!
