𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻 🌱

𝗡𝘂𝗖𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 and 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗔𝗴 have announced a major step forward in commercial chickpea production – with 10,000 acres of high-protein varieties set for deployment in 2026.

This marks the first large-scale commercial application of NuCicer’s breeding platform, bringing nutrient-dense, fiber-rich ingredients closer to food manufacturers.

As part of the development process, Heliospectras 𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝗫 𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 was used during final-stage testing of the new varieties. Today, new breeding efforts are carried out under MITRA X together with Heliospectra's 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗘, enabling more controlled and precise crop development.

As breeding programs continue to evolve, controlled lighting plays an increasing role in improving consistency and accelerating the path from research to commercial scale 💡

Yesterday, our 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴, Denis Dullemans, had the pleasure of presenting at the Floriculture Innovation Center, part of the Ministry of Agriculture in Taiwan. The session, organized by Hortitechs Inc., brought together growers, researchers, and industry professionals.

With the topic “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘓𝘌𝘋 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘴,” Denis shared practical insights on greenhouse lighting and the importance of aligning lighting strategies with crop needs, optimizing energy use through DLI-based control, and ensuring the right light plan for uniformity and performance 💡
