BirraPeroni go for zero carbon production with concentrated solar heat from Absolicon at Birra Peroni plant in Bari, Italy.

One of Birra Peroni’s main sustainability targets is to achieve zero carbon emissions during the production process by 2030. Using solar energy for a wide range of brewery processing applications provides Birra Peroni the possibility of renewable heat at a constant energy price, enabling long term reductions in fuel costs and CO2 emissions.

The installation in the Bari plant is the first step to implementing solar heat in Birra Peroni production process as part of the solution of eliminating carbon emission in production.
Enrico Galasso, Managing Director of Birra Peroni - "In line with our long-term sustainability goals, we are committed to go zero emissions in our production by 2030. Sustainability performance in our Bari plant are already on the right track and thanks to the Absolicon technology we will take another big step closer towards our destination”.

Joakim Byström, CEO Absolicon: “We at Absolicon aim to revolutionize the energy supply and envision a sustainable industry. Birra Peroni, as part of Asahi group, has high climate ambitions and we look forward to this first joint project and of Absolicon technology contributing to Birra Peroni reaching their goal in achieving zero carbon in their production.”

Absolicon and Birra Peroni s.r.l.(Birra Peroni), have signed an agreement to start preparations for a first solar collector field at Birra Peroni plant in Bari, Italy. Birra Peroni is part of global brewer Asahi Group. The Bari plant in Italy is part of Asahi Europe & International that produces the...

Absolicon is happy to announce the sale of a second production line in 2022 through the establishment of a production line for Absolicon T160 solar collector in Canada by exclusive Canadian partner Phoenix Solar Thermal.

Absolicon takes another important step on the road to global presence through the sale of a production line to Phoenix Solar Thermal Inc., a CEM Company, exclusive partner in Canada. The production line enables local production of Absolicon's patented solar collectors, creating added value such as shorter transports, lower prices and locally adapted solutions. This, in turn, creates competitive conditions for Absolicon's solar technology and Phoenix Solar Thermal announce they have built a robust pipeline, representing a potential for 151,000 m2 of Absolicon T160 Solar collectors from various industries and District Energy clients. Production of Absolicon solar collectors in the new production line in Canada is planned for 2024.
Half of the world's energy use is heat, and industries consume huge amounts of fossil fuels to heat their processes. The market for large-scale solar heat is estimated by the International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA at 800 billion euro in investments in industry by 2050.

Absolicon has a unique technology, based on 20 years of research, to extract energy from the sun with concentrating solar collectors. The investment in Absolicon solar heating becomes competitive through local production, limiting transport costs and enabling an adaptation of material choices to the conditions and supply in the local market. The price is also optimized by the solar collectors' design, which allows mass production in Absolicon semi-automated production line with the capacity to produce one finished solar collector every 6 minutes.

Another step towards revolutionizing the world's energy supply!

Absolicon at H&M Group Business and Climate Summit 2022 in Istanbul. Absolicon CSO Carlo Matteo Semeraro and Hassim Shah was on site discussing the potential of solar heat as part of H&M transition away from fossil fuels and change to a better fashion future.
H&M Group offer support to textile suppliers acting today rather than tomorrow. Textile production processing consumes substantial amounts of energy, most of it as low to medium temperature heat, making it a perfect fit for solar thermal energy.
