The opportunity to fly experiments high into the stratosphere or even to the edge of space is now open again for university students. Up to 10 teams will be selected to fly a balloon experiment during autumn 2014 or a rocket experiment in spring 2015.

We've now carefully recovered and thoroughly backed up our data.. here's an example of what it shows. You can see the shape of the channel apertures on CATS, and the lower light levels at the top show the rocket turned away from the Sun while the frame was taken. There are no electrons on this image, but even if they're there they'll be very hard to find because of the poor environmental conditions.

However, these outputs prove we have designed, built and flown a working instrument, and we'll be able to use them to calibrate and characterise the properties of this and other similar experiments. We'll save detailed analysis for the next couple of weeks though, since we now have presentations to prepare..
