What happens to the punches after being produced?
It’s time for heat treatment.

First, the punches are heated in the hardening furnace to achieve the desired hardness.

After hardening, the material is extremely hard, but also brittle.

The punches are then tempered. This makes the material tougher and slightly softer, creating the right balance between hardness and toughness.

Gerdins Vicop is now a brand which can be found all over the world. It offers customers a wide range of standardized perforation tubes and pattern prickers, enabling customers to buy large quantities of our standard products at competitive prices.

With 60 years experience in manufacturing punches for the leather industry, we ca offer steel punches with other shapes of the edges apart from round ones. In our product range, you can find squared shaped edges, oval, rectangular, star shaped among others.

Our standard heights are 9,7mm, 12,7mm, 19mm and 32mm but the punches can of course be manufactured in other heights as well if requested. Please contact us for more information.
