Today marks **350 years of Söderfors Bruk** 🎉

On April 29, 1676, Claes Depken Anckarström was granted the right to build an anchor forge here — transforming the landscape into a place of craftsmanship that supported sailors at sea.

A legacy of strength, resilience, and history.

Idag, för 350 år sedan, den 29 april 1676 utfärdades Privilegiebrevet som gav Claes Depken Anckarström rätten att anlägga ett ankarbruk vid Södra forsen.

Här ses sista sidan med underskrifterna av Eric Fleming, Nils Nilsson, Joh. Funck, Nils Kanterhjelm, Abrah. Lindberg, Johan Otter.

”Med en kännares blick insåg han hvad drift och omtanke kunde tillskapa af ortens belägenhet, och sedan han noga afvägt de kostnader, de hinder med hvilka naturen, äfven då den uppmuntrar berömliga företag, sätter vår ståndaktighet på prof, förvandlade han platsen til et tilhåll för det smide som i stormen så ofta är Sjömannens tilflygt och i hamnen des säkerhet.”
Så beskrevs Depkens ansträngningar för tillkomsten av ankarbruket för Vetenskapsakademien av Adolf Ulric Grill (ägare av Bruket) år 1795.
