The only purchase in this repair, -A light bulb!

Last week we completed the insurance repair of the Chevrolet Malibu -65 and the owner can enjoy his car again. Based on the difficulties in finding and buying spare parts in sheet metal for this car model, and the trade status between Europe and the USA in the current world situation, we decided together with the insurance company to instead repair everything we could on the car.

And the result was that we borrowed a tailgate from an entire Malibu as a template, and through genuine craftsmanship repaired everything from the body, sheet metal details and hatch, as well as moldings and details. The only thing we actually bought besides consumables was a light bulb for the taillights.

We now wish the owner many wonderful miles on bright summer evenings with his beloved car in good condition again!

The Chevy Chevelle "65 insurance reparation project is now ready for paint!

The original shapes are starting to come back on our project with the insurance damage on the rear ended Chevelle -65 we worked on during the winter. Since there is both a shortage of sheet metal parts for this particular year and model, and the current price level for both freight and customs from the USA, it was chosen in consultation with the insurance company to repair the crash-damaged tailgate and body instead of replacing it.

With a focus on craftsmanship and quality in the sheet metal work, it is getting closer to sending it down to the basement for painting. The goal is for the customer to get their car back in time for this year's cruising season here in Sweden!

Assembly of the has started!

Another milestone completed, and now the journey to get it to a complete car again are in motion.

Body repair continues on the crash-damaged Chevelle Malibu, which is currently undergoing insurance repairs in the workshop. This week we straighten the body again before the next step to make this classic road worthy again.

has finally entered the paint booth here at Riverland fabrications .
Our painter Virgis has been sanding and preparing the body for days, and now the first layers of this two tone paint job is sprayed!
