The Future Farm is here – and we are proud to have been part of it from the very start. 🏆

DeLaval Lithuania has played a central role in bringing the 53‑hectare Future Farm – one of Europe’s most ambitious dairy developments – to life.

As the main technology partner and long‑term collaborator, we supported the project from solution selection through to implementation.

The complex, located in the Radviliškis district in Lithuania, includes a range of DeLaval solutions, with the standout being a 100‑bail DeLaval Rotary E500 – the largest in Europe – currently milking around 360 cows per hour, with a target of up to 700 as the herd adapts.

The project also features a data‑driven improvement track. In collaboration with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, DeLaval will translate scientific insights into practice and evaluate the impact on herd health, welfare, and productivity.

Once fully populated, the complex is expected to house around 10,000 cattle, including approximately 4,500 dairy cows, and create around 50 new jobs.

Exciting to see it all come together – from concept to cows. A big congratulations to everyone involved in this landmark project. 🎉

Why engineering? Why DeLaval? 🤔

DeLaval’s Johan Rågmark, Electronic Engineer in Animal Intelligence and Milking, explains why he chose this path – and what he enjoys most about his role.

Every milking. More insight. 🥛🎉

Meet DeLaval BioSensors Milk Solids Analysis – a new addition to the DeLaval BioSensors portfolio for DeLaval VMS™ V300, delivering continuous insight into milk solids – fat, protein, and lactose – during every milking.

What do milk solids tell you – and why it matters
Milk solids composition reflects changes in feeding, forage quality, heat stress, and early‑lactation energy demands. When digestion or energy balance shifts, those changes often show up in the milk before they are noticeable in the cow.

Early insight into changes in milk solids levels can help farmers spot developing challenges sooner and adjust management to help prevent potential impacts on production, cow health, or feeding efficiency.

Milk Solids Analysis is installed directly on the milk pipe of the VMS V300 and runs continuously as part of the normal milking routine. Using near‑infrared spectroscopy – a light‑based measurement method – the system analyses milk as it flows through the milk line, without adding anything to the milk or interrupting the process.

There is no need for chemicals, consumables, or manual milk sampling.

All milk solids data is automatically analysed and visualised in DeLaval Plus – DeLaval’s digital management platform that brings together herd, milk, and robot data in one place.

It’s available for DeLaval VMS™ V300 farms as:
– an optional feature on new installations
– an upgrade for existing systems

Sales begin in autumn in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with Asia Pacific to follow.

On the road again - alpine season has begun ! 🛞🐄⛰️

Every summer, the Zumbühl family moves their cows from the home farm up to the alpine pasture for seasonal grazing. And for the past six years, they’ve also transported their DeLaval VMS™ V300 too!

It might sound like a wild idea to those outside Switzerland, but seasonal alpine farming is deeply rooted here. The summer stay is short – around three to four months – and keeping the same cows, milking routines, and robot settings makes both practical and economic sense.

Spring has sprung — and the cows definitely have a bit more jump in their step 🐄💙

Last Saturday, we celebrated our annual cow release at DeLaval’s Hamra Farm – known as kosläpp in Swedish. Kosläpp marks the start of the grazing season and the arrival of spring.

🎥 Here’s the film from this year’s cow release.

What's one common myth Mildrid would like to put to rest? And what changed when she became a mum? 👀

You might be thinking, those are some strange‑looking cows. 👀 That’s because they’re actually buffalo.🐃

In Italy, buffalo farming is very popular – understandably, as buffalo milk is used to make the famous mozzarella cheese – and many farms use DeLaval equipment. One example is a new installation at the Belmonte Agricultural Company in the province of Salerno, where around 150 buffaloes are milked using a DeLaval tandem milking system.

To further support animal welfare, sustainability, and productivity, the farm has recently installed: DeLaval DDF fans, installed in the barn as well as in the waiting area and return lanes, providing effective cooling and ventilation even during the hottest periods SCB 3.1 swinging brushes, suitable also for lactating buffaloes Together, these solutions help keep the animals comfortable throughout the day.

👏 Congratulations to the farmer, and to the dealer AGRISERVICE di Lettieri Roberto Angelo, on a great installation.

DeLaval Lithuania is turning 30 – and the celebrations don’t stop there. At the Ką pasėsi… 2026 agricultural exhibition in Lithuania, Flow‑Responsive™ milking for DeLaval VMS™ received a medal for innovation.

The Innovation Award recognised Flow‑Responsive milking for its ability to adapt the milking process to each cow’s individual milk flow. By adjusting milking continuously in real time, the technology supports a more individualised approach based on each animal’s physiology, improving efficiency while enhancing cow comfort. The award recognises a practical approach to innovation, developed together with dairy farmers and shaped by everyday on‑farm experience.
2026 was also a landmark year for Ką pasėsi…, which marked its own 30th anniversary. One of

Lithuania’s longest‑running agricultural events, Ką pasėsi… brought together farmers, industry experts, and more than 500 companies to showcase modern farming technologies and livestock solutions.

Congratulations to both DeLaval Lithuania and Ką pasėsi… on 30 years – and here’s to many more exciting years ahead 🎉

Another day, another great installation ✅

Daw Refrigeration recently completed a new setup in Devon, England, centred around two DeLaval VMS™ V300 robots.

The installation also includes a range of DeLaval solutions – from footbaths, separating gates and milk tanks to the OptiDuo™ Robotic Feed Pusher, as well as digital solutions including the Behaviour Analysis Activity Monitoring System.

Always great to see a well‑planned setup come to life on farm. 👌

You’ve heard of 67 (if you know, you know)? Well, at GAEC Mohain it’s 7–9. 🐄

The farm, based in Sarthe, western France, has added two new DeLaval VMS milking robots to its original seven – bringing the total number of VMS units on the farm to nine.

These new units are part of DeLaval’s latest generation of milking technology, featuring adaptive milking with Flow Responsive™ technology. 🚀🤖

⏱️🔥The replacement of the previous milking robots and the commissioning of the new VMS units were completed in under five hours. Huge congratulations to our technical teams and also to the dealer, Animat 53

🙏 Thank you to GAEC Mohain for the continued trust they have placed in us over the years. It is a real pleasure to support you as your farm continues to develop 🤝🐄
