European market premiere for Dutch infrastructure sector
Europe’s first fully electric highway asphalt pavers have been delivered directly from the factory. A major step towards scaling up zero-emission construction equipment.
This month, Mourik, Van Gelder and Heijmans will put the machines into operation. They are supplied by Dynapac in cooperation with the Dealer Van der Spek (Vianen), with each company receiving one unit.
Why it matters
These are the largest electric asphalt pavers available, designed for major works such as highway resurfacing and large infrastructure renovation projects. With a Dutch maintenance backlog estimated at €34.5 billion, more sustainable and efficient solutions are increasingly important.
From conversion to factory solution
Previously, companies converted diesel machines into electric versions themselves. Now, zero-emission technology comes directly from the manufacturer, making scaling much easier. From 2026, the machines will also be available more widely for customers all over Europe.
Performance
~8 hours runtime (full workday)
800 ton/h
40 minutes charging time via DC
AC / DC standard, Marechal Standard for flexible recharging
65% energy efficiency - 5 Electric Drives
Impact
Asphalt is essential for roads, airports and d**e reinforcement. Electrification helps reduce CO₂ and nitrogen oxides while cutting reliance on fossil fuels.
Developed through close cooperation between contractors, supplier and manufacturer, this marks a clear step forward in sustainable infrastructure construction.
We thank all participating companies for their trust and wish them great success!
