Unique Custom Cycles We provide full servicing for road bike, MTB, folding bike, recumbent bike, Brompton, Bike Friday and many more. Established in 2013. It isn't just rolling.

We have the tools, machines and problem solving skills to tackle many technical issues. We also design and build limited editions cruiser bike UCC provide bike service and repair to the next level. Fully and well equip with quality tools and machines, we are capable of parts fabrication and modification. With 4 decade of aviation background and hand on engineering experiences in problem solving, we are dedicated to do our best to solve or provide a solution to a problem. It's rock and roll.

Fully overhaul and restore a vintage Gary Fisher mountain bike equipped with a rare and working carbon Wheelset. The front wheel axle end cap was found cracked and partially missing. A critical issue given the sentimental value of the Wheelset.
Determine that OEM replacement parts are no longer available and set off to fabricate the replacement by measuring the existing component with precision tools to verify dimensions and bearing interface on surviving geometry. Machine from carbon steel the new end cap to exact tolerances, ensuring a snug and true fit on the axle and proper bearing loading. Reassembled, tested wheel spin and check hub alignment and bearing performance.
The wheel set was successfully restored to full function and visual integrity. The replacement end cap blended seamlessly with the original hardware. The repair preserved the bike’s authenticity and sentimental value. A worthwhile effort to save the classic piece of MTB history.

Our latest build is finally done — and it’s an absolute stunner. The paintwork is on another level, and the colour combination with the components is simply mind-blowing. Every detail has been carefully thought out, resulting in a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Repairing a distorted Brompton T-Line head tube caused during welding in the manufacturing process. The T-Line uses titanium components, which are lightweight and strong, but also sensitive to heat warping and alignment issues. Head tube distortion and surface irregularities in bearing seats due to heat from welding especially nearest to the top bearing seat (during titanium frame fabrication) is common. Distortion may caused the headset bearing uneven bearing wear.
Before doing anything, carefully inspect the head tube for roundness. Measure the head tube bearing seat for parallelism with a digital caliper and square gauge for alignment check.
Fabricate a lathe fixture from 6061 aluminium alloy solid bar stock to hold the head tube securely for machining. Use good quality facing tool to face the titanium head tube end just enough to ensure they’re parallel and smooth. Remove sharp edges before assembly.
Assemble the head tube to the main frame. Install the headset bearings using proper headset press - do not hammer or force. Assemble the fork and stem and even preload with the headset cap. Lastly ensure smooth rotation and no play.
For those who found their Brompton T-Line head tube bearing seats distorted can make an appointment with Unique Custom Cycles to have it fixed.
