Want to know more about our teams in action?
Our colleagues from HPA in Malaysia, supported by trusted partners, recently led a planned shutdown of the Gas Mercury Removal Unit (GMRU) offshore Sarawak for an essential adsorbent change-out. Despite compacted adsorbents, restricted access inside the vessel, and weather delays, the team successfully executed the removal of spent adsorbents, thorough unloading, inspection, and reloading of fresh adsorbent and ceramic balls. Strict safety protocols, Job Risk Assessments (JRA), and confined space entry procedures were followed throughout the process. Importantly, the operation was completed without any safety incidents.
The project showcased effective planning, teamwork, and adaptability. Every step, from breaking down the solidified adsorbents to final loading and leak testing, was carried out with precision and full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
HPA’s successful completion restored the GMRU to full operational capacity, ensuring reliable gas purification for continued offshore operations.
