We are thrilled to share that we are the winners of the Blue Bio Value acceleration programme!

πŸ™ŒπŸ» Many thanks to the organizers and the entire network, since the very beginning we felt warm welcomed and incredibly supported.

❀️🌊 This prize is particularly special because we were part of a cohort of 17 startups (from 10 countries around the world) that were selected to scale up their ocean-solutions. This not only means that the oceans need a sea change, but that there are many solutions out there and awesome people trying to make them happen. Thanks and congratulations to you all!

πŸ₯‡ Thanks to the jury for believing in us and in our solution!

πŸ™πŸ» Last but not least, a big thanks to the promoters and the partners for this great opportunity:

Ready to roll!

🎒 After a selection process of several months, on Monday we will join the BBV Acceleration Program.

🌊 Exciting weeks ahead, as we will work together with the BBV team and the teams of the other 17 startups around the world that are developing sustainable solutions focused on the oceans.

🌍 This is all about the Oceans, Planet, and Ourselves. Today, Tomorrow and in the Future.

πŸŒ€ Reefs need our help to stay healthy!

This is a beautiful reef in the Maldives in 2015.

During 1998 and 2016 Maldivian coral reefs experienced two severe bleaching events.

After the 1998 bleaching event, more than 90% of hard corals died.

It took 16 years for reefs to recover the pre-bleaching state.

πŸŒ€ Reef life

Introducing you to the reef creatures we love:

Juvenile yellow boxfish

One of our favourite reef dwellers, this little cutester inspired a car design (seriously, the Mercedes-Benz Bionic) and, we are pretty sure it also inspired everyone's favourite sea sponge, Spongebob!

Circulating positive news about our oceans, like this:
World’s biggest container liner orders large carbon-neutral vessels

One of the largest shipping companies, Maersk from Denmark has ordered eight new vessels that run on carbon-neutral methanol.

The new ships will be able to sail between China and Europe and across the Pacific

πŸŒ€Soft corals are some of the most attractive found on the reef.

They have very rich colours, predominantly in hues of red, orange, yellow, olive and purple, but don't be fooled by their soft appearance, soft corals are Cnidarians, meaning they sting!

πŸŒ€ Ocean Tech

We share with you some of the outstanding ideas and innovations that benefit our oceans & planet:

A 680 tons tidal turbine has started power generation in the ocean north of mainland Scotland.

The 74 meters long turbine is linked to a local electricity network on land by a submerged cable.

It is due to operate for the next 15 years and can meet the annual electricity demand of around 2,000 homes.

πŸŒ€ Do corals have brains? Well, they have this!

In fact, they do not have brains, ironically not even the brain coral. But brain corals can still live for up to 900 years and grow six feet tall!
