We had an incredible weekend at NHG Healthiverse 2026! We are proud to be part of this vibrant health carnival at Bukit Canberra Integrated Hub, bringing people together to explore, play, and take action for their health through basic health screenings, hands-on activities, interactive games, and educational experiences.

As part of our commitment to promoting early detection, awareness, and timely intervention, we supported the event by providing HbA1c and blood pressure checks using the PreciS™-A HbA1c Rapid Analysis System (for diabetes management) and the PreciS™-B Blood Pressure Monitor (for hypertension management). We engaged participants in conversations about their results and shared guidance on next steps, including follow-up with GP clinics and national initiatives such as Healthier SG, which support preventive health and healthier living.

Thank you NHG Population Health, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and support their health journeys. Seeing everyone take proactive steps to understand and care for their health motivates us to continue working towards our shared goal of building healthier communities for all.

Why does blood pressure increase with age?

As we age, our arteries gradually become less flexible and more rigid. This makes it harder for blood to flow through the blood vessels, causing the heart to work harder to pump blood throughout the body. Over time, this can lead to an increase in blood pressure.

In Singapore, the prevalence of 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗴𝗲, affecting 9.4% of adults aged 18-29 and 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝟳𝟰.𝟵% 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝟳𝟬-𝟳𝟰. Risk factors such as ageing, higher body mass index (BMI) and lifestyle-related risks may contribute to this increase.

Last week, we had a wonderful Sunday at Nee Soon South, joining SG Assists for a community health event- Know Your Number, aimed to support healthy ageing and preventive care by offering engaging health talks and quick screenings for HbA1c (diabetes) and blood pressure (hypertension).

With the engaging health talks from understanding the silent risks of diabetes and high blood pressure, to exploring what it truly means to age well in Singapore, we hope participants have a greater understanding of why early detection and preventive care are important for healthy ageing.

Thank you SG Assist , for the opportunity to support this initiative through accessible point-of-care solutions that encourage early detection, continuous care and healthy ageing. And a big thank you to Mr Adrian Tan and Dr Lum for the insightful sharing. See you next time!
