Makino Milling Machine Co., Ltd. has inaugurated its new Fujiyoshida Plant in Japan, strengthening its production capabilities for large horizontal machining centers and 5-axis machining centers to support growing customer demand.

Designed specifically for the production of larger machine platforms, the new facility combines a highly stable foundation with tightly controlled manufacturing conditions to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability that customers expect from Makino.

We are proud to congratulate our colleague, Rajalekshmi Maya Rajesh, on her achievement as a Top Finalist at the 2026 Miss Singapore Global Universe and for being awarded the Miss Personality title.

Her journey throughout the competition reflects confidence, determination, and staying true to herself.

Sharing about her experience, Lekshmi said:
"Stepping into the world of pageantry has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Winning the title of Miss Personality is proof that authenticity shines through. Makino Asia was proud to be represented at the NTUC May Day Rally 2026, held on 1 May 2026 at D’Marquee, Downtown East, one of Singapore’s most significant annual platforms celebrating the contributions of workers and strengthening tripartite partnerships. Mr. Jana from Corporate Affairs and Mr. Ng Huai Han from the Manufacturing QA Department attended the event on behalf of the company, joining union leaders, employers, and policymakers from across Singapore.

This year’s rally brought together more than 1,600 union leaders, tripartite partners and guests, underscoring the enduring importance of collaboration between workers, employers and the Government as Singapore navigates an increasingly uncertain global environment. The event was hosted by NTUC leadership and graced by Guest‑of‑Honour Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who delivered the keynote address outlining Singapore’s commitment to protecting jobs, supporting workers through economic transitions, and strengthening resilience amid global volatility and technological disruption.

A key theme of the 2026 rally was “standing by every worker in the AI era” and here is a famous quote by our Prime Minister Mr Lawrence Wong: "We may not be able to protect every job. But we will protect every worker." NTUC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting workers as artificial intelligence and structural shifts reshape industries, announcing a $37 million commitment in 2026 to provide practical support for workers and their families. This includes initiatives focused on skills development, job transitions, and targeted assistance for everyday needs, reflecting the Labour Movement’s continued focus on care, capability building, and collective action.

The presence of Makino Asia representatives at the rally reflects the company’s close ties with the union, strong alignment with Singapore’s tripartite values and its ongoing commitment to workforce development, quality excellence, and sustainable growth.
