African and Classical swine fever are highly contagious diseases that can be transmitted between pigs through direct contact with infected pigs or their bodily fluids, such as saliva, blood, and f***s. They can also be transmitted indirectly through contaminated objects, such as feeding and watering equipment, clothing, vehicles. It can also be transmitted through ticks and wild animals, such as warthogs, wild boars and bushpigs, and through the ingestion of contaminated meat or pork products.
Assaya is launching TWO types of assays for detection of the Antigens in bodily fluids, meat, f***s, etc. The other test is an Antibody test for the detection of past infections that have seroconverted that is sampled from blood or serum.
These are plastic free RDTs from Assaya that weigh only 3g, and use recyclable aluminum for the buffer solution in a "spacket" (standing packet), and can use our bamboo Sterile Wood Abrasive Collector (SWAC) as a sample collector.
Using the Assaya RDR, the RDTs can be read quantitatively and the data is available in the AssaysDx portal in real time, and visible globally in seconds.
