What We do:
The SP-IES Student Chapter works closely together with the Institution of Engineers Singapore for many of events, in aims to benefit it's SP-IES Student Chapter members and SP Students alike. SP-IES runs an iconic Leadership Dialogue Series, which sees successful, influential and respected engineers in all fields engaging with our very own SP Students. One can expect to have their que
ries and concerns about engineering and related fields (such as Business) addressed in the view of the guest speakers in the dialogue. Job exposure is a very important, especially when selecting a future path as an engineer in a specialised field. SP-IES conducts frequent Industry Visits (e.g. SIAEC, ABB) for it's Student Chapter members in hopes to fuel their passion for their interest field in engineering. A degree may be the game changer for those wishing to pursue engineering on a deeper level. As such, the SP-IES ties up with other IES Student Chapters of our local Universities to offer faculty tours and first hand accounts by the undergraduates themselves! It is imperative to be well-acquainted with the people in the industry, allowing individuals to adapt more easily in their future engineering fields. The SP-IES realises the importance of and offers Networking events, specially for its Student Chapter members, to allow students to get to know more about their interest field none other than from the experts themselves! We believe that along with academics, an SP engineering students should also develop themselves holistically. The SP-IES offers many peer-cohesive activities such as bonding days, CIP events and supplemental skill workshops. Members with good leadership, communication and teamwork skills in addition to a strong desire to participate in and benefit the engineering scene in SP and in Singapore may also be given the chance to serve as a SP-IES Committee member.
