Play brings people together. Whether it's a morning jog, an afternoon swim, a football match, or cheering from the stands, community sports facilities play an important role in encouraging active lifestyles.
For the Choa Chu Kang Sport Centre upgrading project, ADASยฎ was engaged not simply to add new structures, but to understand and solve an existing challenge.
Through detailed site studies, engineering assessments, and Wind-Driven Rain (WDR) CFD analysis, our team evaluated how wind, rainfall, and the existing canopy geometry interacted with the facility. The goal was clear: improve shelter coverage, reduce rainwater ingress, enhance safety, and provide a more comfortable experience for users throughout the year.
Using engineering-led design, we developed a series of ETFE canopy enhancements, including roof extensions, rain screens, and linkways that work together to improve weather protection while integrating seamlessly with the existing structure.
At ADASยฎ, optimisation is about more than adding new components. It is about understanding how a structure performs in real-world conditions and developing solutions that deliver measurable improvements in functionality, safety, and user experience.
Following last week's International Day of Play, we are proud to contribute to spaces that allow communities to stay active, connected, and protectedโrain or shine.
Because great projects don't always start from scratch. Sometimes, they begin by making what already exists perform even better.
