A US crypto bill stalled in the Senate last month, 49-50.
It needed 60 votes and never reached debate. Most people read that as nothing happening. It was the opposite.
Two days later the SEC opened a route for tokenised stock trading. The day after that, the CFTC sent its own rules to the White House. Both agencies say they will carry on under powers they already have.
So the rules still get written. They just get written by people nobody voted for, and they can change without a vote.
That is Washington, and the exchanges here follow suit anyway. A listing can vanish on a Wednesday and nobody asks you first.
None of that reaches a key you hold yourself. Regulators can argue for years and your coins stay exactly where you put them.
