Team Bumblebee has just returned from the 2022 Maritime RobotX Challenge hosted by RoboNation - AUVSI Foundation at the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) in Sydney, Australia.

In spite of it being the middle of the exam season, the team managed to push the development for the co-deployment of the Bumblebee Autonomous Surface Vessel 3.0 (BBASV 3.0) as well as Bumblebee's first Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), Jellyfish 1.0.

After a hard-fought week alongside all the teams from across the globe, Team Bumblebee is proud to announce a 1st runner-up finish in the overall autonomy challenge, best system assessment and 1st place for overall design documentation.

The lessons learnt and experience gained has been insightful and will definitely serve as an impetus to drive fresh development and an overhaul of the full Bumblebee Autonomous Maritime System vehicle suite. Team Bumblebee will come back stronger and better in the 2024 edition of the Maritime RobotX Challenge!

Congratulations to the team again! We concluded the RobotX 2019 interactive forum on a very high note. Our software team has spent the last few months working on the Virtual RobotX challenge - a simulated maritime robotics challenge. We are pleased to announce that the team came in fourth place just behind KAIST's NIROM, University of Sydney and Georgia Tech. Our systems were tied for First place in the Autonomous Docking Task with KAIST. The last few days have been exciting and we thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of collaboration that permeated through the conference. We would like to thank the folks at Robonation, ONR, and FSTD for organizing and supporting this fantastic event. We also would like to thank Carlos Aguero and the people at Openrobotics and the Naval Postgraduate School for developing such a robust simulation environment - the VRX platform has been and will be an invaluable tool for helping us test the correctness of our algorithms. Once again we would like to thank our sponsors including our title sponsor, National University of Singapore for supporting us. We would also like to thank all the teams that participated and shared their information at the robotX forum. It has been a truly eye opening experience for us.
