An Outdoor Challenge
Set within a leafy enclave off Holland Road, this private residence brings together a restored colonial home and a Modernist structure, forming the backdrop for an unconventional display commission. Working with the interior designer, we produced three standalone, all-glass vitrines, including a Miron round case formed from two equal halves of curved laminated glass, alongside our Turin Demountable system. The brief evolved when the collector chose to position his most valuable watches outdoors, along a patio exposed to the natural environment. This required addressing a complex set of conditions, protection against insects, fluctuating temperatures, and highly variable humidity typical of the tropics, while maintaining museum-grade standards. The resulting showcases demonstrate how careful engineering and material choices can extend conservation-quality display beyond traditional indoor settings, without compromising clarity or security.

A Noble Journey
For this private collection in downtown Singapore, we worked closely with Noble Silver to create a museum-grade display within a residential setting. The project houses a remarkable collection of sacred Buddhist monastery bowls, hand-chased by traditional craftsmen from Myanmar’s Sagaing region, some dating back to the late 18th century and carefully assembled over many years by historian David Owens. Using our Turin Demountable showcase system, we were able to transport, assemble, and hand over a series of 2.4-metre-tall, multi-bay cases on the 20th floor of a high-rise apartment within a single day, addressing both logistical constraints and conservation requirements. Ultra-slim LED panels deliver consistent 4000K warm-white illumination from above and below, allowing the objects to be viewed clearly and respectfully, while ensuring long-term preservation in a calm, considered domestic environment.

Leonardo Da Vinci, The Lume Project Melbourne
Within the immersive and interpretive environment of Leonardo da Vinci, A Journey into the Mind of a Genius at THE LUME Melbourne, Trika’s contribution provided a precise counterpoint of physical craftsmanship and conservation rigor to the exhibition’s expansive digital narrative. For the project, Trika completed and handed over two Ramses HD museum display cases as fully assembled, conservation-ready units, supporting the exhibition’s exploration of Leonardo’s original thinking, inventions, and material legacy. Fabricated with 11.52 mm extra-clear, low-iron anti-reflective laminated glass and finished in a restrained matte black profile, the cases ensured exceptional visual clarity while maintaining a quiet presence within the immersive setting. High-security ABLOY locking systems, dedicated key sets, and a comprehensive handover package, including as-built drawings, operating manuals, and long-term care guidelines, ensured compliance with international museum insurance and conservation standards. In a project that bridges Renaissance genius and contemporary exhibition technology, the showcases embody Trika’s commitment to security, durability, and responsible stewardship, extending the integrity of the exhibition beyond spectacle and into the enduring care of its physical artefacts.

Natural History Museum London × ArtScience Museum Singapore
For the touring exhibition Treasures of the Natural World, Trika was appointed to design and deliver conservation-grade showcases for one of the most complex and demanding exhibitions ever staged at ArtScience Museum. Working closely with teams from Singapore and London over several years, we produced a wide range of custom cases, Elgin Casefronts, Turin Demountable, Ramses HD, and Cyrus Pull & Slide, to house more than 200 scientifically and historically significant objects, from Charles Darwin’s handwritten manuscripts to large-scale specimens such as the Giant Ground Sloth. Each showcase was engineered to meet strict conservation, security, and child-safety requirements, with integrated climate control, anti-bandit glazing, concealed alarm systems, and carefully planned lighting. Designed for both public engagement and sustainable touring, the cases underwent rigorous structural and load testing to accommodate heavy artifacts and repeated transport, ensuring every object could be displayed securely while allowing its story to be clearly and respectfully told.

National Gallery Singapore
As part of the transformation of the former City Hall and Supreme Court buildings into Singapore’s largest visual arts institution, Trika was appointed to design and manufacture museum-grade showcases for the permanent Southeast Asian Art galleries. Working within a multidisciplinary team, we delivered 32 custom conservation showcases across both heritage buildings, including Ramses HD, Cyrus Pull & Slide, and Hydra case types. Each showcase was carefully designed in close collaboration with the museum to integrate seamlessly into wall niches, corridors, and transitional spaces, while meeting stringent conservation requirements set by the Heritage Conservation Centre. The project introduced a number of design and technical firsts, from fully flush baseboards and self-closing heavy-duty drawers to customised fibre-optic lighting adapted for 19th-century heritage tables. All showcases underwent rigorous airtightness and material testing, including ODDY testing, to ensure suitability for the long-term display of fragile maps, paintings, and scrolls, some over a century old. The resulting body of work balances contemporary precision with sensitivity to the Gallery’s colonial architecture, supporting conservation without compromising the visual and historical context of the space.
