An Outdoor Challenge
Set within a leafy enclave off Holland Road, this private residence brings together a restored colonial home and a Modernist structure, forming the backdrop for an unconventional display commission. Working with the interior designer, we produced three standalone, all-glass vitrines, including a Miron round case formed from two equal halves of curved laminated glass, alongside our Turin Demountable system. The brief evolved when the collector chose to position his most valuable watches outdoors, along a patio exposed to the natural environment. This required addressing a complex set of conditions, protection against insects, fluctuating temperatures, and highly variable humidity typical of the tropics, while maintaining museum-grade standards. The resulting showcases demonstrate how careful engineering and material choices can extend conservation-quality display beyond traditional indoor settings, without compromising clarity or security.
