In celebration of May Day, appreciation meals were organised across all our project sites as a gesture of gratitude to our teams for their dedication and hard work.

These efforts reflect our recognition of the commitment, professionalism, and teamwork demonstrated daily by colleagues both on-site and at the office, whose contributions continue to drive our projects forward.

Wishing all KTC colleagues and everyone a meaningful and restful Labour Day 2026.

KTC participated in a study trip to Taiwan jointly organised by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS) from 12 to 18 April 2026. The programme comprised visits to several major infrastructure projects, including the Taoyuan Railway Underground Project (Contract CJ12), the Taoyuan MRT Green Line (Contract GC03), a Pipe Roof Tunnel project in Taichung, the Alishan landslide and its associated improvement works, as well as Taipei MRT Package CF680C.

The study trip provided valuable opportunities to learn from Taiwanese contractors and consultants, particularly with regard to design considerations, geological conditions, key project challenges, and construction methodologies. It also facilitated meaningful professional exchanges between participants from Singapore and Taiwan, contributing to the sharing of knowledge, strengthening of industry networks, and development of professional rapport.

KTC extends its sincere appreciation to BCA Group Director Er Tan Chun Yong and GeoSS President Er Michelle Lew Geok Theng for their leadership and guidance throughout this highly beneficial programme. We are grateful for the insights and experience gained and look forward to participating in future study trips jointly organised by BCA and GeoSS.

On 23rd March 2026, CR211 Project proudly marked a significant milestone — 1,000,000 accident-free man hours — alongside the official opening of our Safety Training Center.

The event was graced by LTA Senior Group Director, Mr Chang Kin Boon, together with KTC’s Senior Management, underscoring our shared commitment to safety excellence and continuous improvement.

Guided by the theme “Healthy People, Greener Future,” the campaign brought together our project team and valued business partners to reinforce the importance of well-being, safe work practices, and environmental responsibility. Insightful sharing sessions highlighted practical approaches to fostering a healthier workforce and embedding sustainability into daily operations.

Our Project Manager, Chua Gim Hock also shared the team’s approach towards integrating sustainability into the construction of the station — demonstrating how safety, health, and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

The launch of the Safety Training Center reflects KTC’s strong commitment to elevating safe work practices and strengthening the safety culture across the project. It serves as a dedicated platform to equip our workforce with the right knowledge, skills, and mindset — empowering everyone to take ownership of safety and uphold the highest standards on site.

This milestone is a testament to the collective effort, discipline, and dedication of every individual. As we move forward, we remain committed to building a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future.

Strengthening Our Workforce Through Recruitment Diversification 👷‍♂️

In late January this year, KTC expanded our recruitment efforts to China, focusing on experienced PRC excavator operators to support our growing operations.

Last week, we were pleased to welcome our first batch of new colleagues as they officially joined the KTC family. For many of them, this marks a significant milestone — their first time working overseas and their first experience in Singapore.

All of them bring with them many years of relevant working experience, having been involved in projects similar in nature to those at KTC. This gives us strong confidence in their ability to integrate quickly and contribute effectively on the ground.

While this is an exciting new chapter for them, we recognise that adapting to a new country and work environment comes with its challenges. We are committed to supporting their transition and ensuring they feel welcomed, supported and valued from day one.

At KTC, we believe that diversifying our recruitment sources strengthens not just our workforce, but also our resilience and adaptability as an organisation. We look forward to seeing our new team members grow with us and contribute to our continued success.

Welcome to the KTC family — we are glad to have you onboard.

In our own small way, KTC is glad to support the Professor Chen Charng Ning Distinguished Lecture, a bi-annual event that honours the legacy and contributions of Professor Chen Charng Ning, the founding Dean of the School of Civil & Structural Engineering.

Co-organised by the Nanyang Technological University’s School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CCE) and NTU CEE Alumni, this distinguished lecture series provides a valuable platform for industry professionals, academics, and aspiring engineers to come together, exchange ideas, and deepen their understanding of developments within the built environment sector. It stands as a testament to Professor Chen’s enduring impact on engineering education and his role in shaping future generations of engineers.

At KTC, we believe in contributing meaningfully to the growth of the profession. Supporting initiatives like this reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing future talent, strengthening collaboration between industry and academia, and advancing the built environment sector.

Expanding Our Talent Search — Recruitment in Korat, Thailand 🇹🇭

Our recruitment journey recently brought us to Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), Thailand, where we conducted another round of interviews and practical skills assessments as part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen KTC’s workforce.

Travelling to different regions to meet candidates on the ground remains an important part of how we approach hiring. This time in Korat, the process focused not only on interviews but also on hands-on practical assessments, allowing candidates to demonstrate their technical abilities and operational readiness. Skill-based evaluation ensures that we identify individuals whose capabilities align with the demands of our projects and who can contribute safely and effectively on site.

What stood out most during the session was the strong commitment shown by the candidates. Many travelled long hours to attend the assessment, reflecting the determination and resilience that we value greatly in our workforce.

Each recruitment trip reinforces an important belief: building a strong organisation starts with meeting people where they are, understanding their strengths, and giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.

We look forward to welcoming a new group of capable and committed individuals who will soon become part of the KTC family.

Building a safe and prepared workplace remains a key priority at KTC.

A group of our workers recently attended the Responders Plus Programme (RPP) conducted by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

The programme equips participants with essential lifesaving skills such as First Aid, CPR-AED, and basic Fire Fighting.

Through this hands-on training, our workers gained practical knowledge and confidence to respond effectively during emergencies, whether at the workplace or within the community.

At KTC, we believe that safety goes beyond compliance. By equipping our people with emergency preparedness skills, we are strengthening our collective readiness to protect lives and support one another when it matters most.

We would like to thank the trainers from SCDF for conducting this meaningful and engaging programme.

KTC 2026 Dinner & Dance 💃🕺

The KTC 2026 Dinner & Dance, held at Marina Bay Sands, was a meaningful and memorable evening that brought colleagues together in celebration and appreciation.

The programme featured a well-curated mix of ballroom dance performances, interactive games, musical segments, long service awards, and lucky draws, creating an engaging and enjoyable experience for all.

The evening commenced with a surprise opening dance by our Chairman and Managing Director, followed by his thoughtful address using Dance as a metaphor — highlighting the importance of alignment, rhythm, trust, and collaboration in our collective journey as an organisation.

This was followed by a message from our CEO, who shared highlights of several completed projects in 2025, reflecting the collective effort, resilience, and capabilities of our teams. He also introduced the concept of the two “Rs.” The first R reaffirms our core value of Respect, which remains fundamental to how we work together. The second R represents Recognition — through rewarding, motivating, and encouraging our people to boost performance and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

This year’s Dinner & Dance was further enhanced by a spacious dance floor, professional dance performances, and reputable local singers presenting a variety of musical themes. These elements created a conducive environment for employees to unwind, connect, and celebrate together.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Marina Bay Sands for their excellent facilities and attentive service, and to our event organiser, JNR Entertainment Pte Ltd, for their professionalism and strong coordination, which contributed significantly to the smooth ex*****on of the event. Our sincere thanks also go to the members of the D&D Committee, whose dedication, planning, and teamwork played a vital role in bringing this event together successfully.

The resounding calls of “Yum Sheng” throughout the evening reflected our strong team spirit and served as a collective moment of celebration.

Guided by respect and strengthened through recognition, we will continue to lead with purpose and deliver sustainable performance.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the KTC 2026 Dinner & Dance a successful and meaningful event.
