đą From agricultural waste to sustainable value.
We are proud to mark the inauguration of Valency's cashew shell-based biochar production facility in AttinguiĂŠ, CĂ´te d'Ivoireâa significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable industrialisation and circular economy innovation.
The inauguration was honoured by The Honourable Mr. Ibrahim Kalil KonatĂŠ, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts, alongside government representatives, traditional leaders, community representatives, development partners and industry stakeholders, reflecting the shared commitment to advancing CĂ´te d'Ivoire's industrial transformation.
This facility is the first milestone of Valency's US$50 million AttinguiĂŠ Cashew Value Park and forms part of our broader ~US$170 million investment programme across CĂ´te d'Ivoire. Once fully developed, the Cashew Value Park will process up to 150,000 tonnes of cashew shell waste annually, creating renewable energy, biochar and other value-added products while generating over 3,000 additional jobs.
By transforming cashew shell by-products into biochar, we are demonstrating how innovation can create value from agricultural residuesâsupporting farmers, strengthening local value addition, reducing waste and contributing to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of the Government of CĂ´te d'Ivoire, our partners, local communities, customers and our dedicated teams. We also extend our appreciation to RevÄta Carbon for its technical partnership in developing this pioneering biochar facility.
Together, we are helping build a more sustainable future for the cashew industryâone where innovation, responsible processing and local value creation go hand in hand.
