Most failures trace back to the design phase and not during operation. Even an unprotected cable route can be enough to affect systems. Without a coordinated protection concept, lightning events, surges, or grid disturbances can quickly lead to failures, damage, and high costs.

Beyond major strikes, wind turbines are frequently exposed to low-intensity lightning events that go undetected. Over time, these invisible discharges can degrade components, leading to unexpected failures, costly repairs and increased insurance risks.

So how reliable are existing monitoring solutions?
