One of the most common "Reno Rescues" we do is helping landed homeowners who were told their wall is "too short" for a sliding gate. The practical fix is a Double Sliding (Telescopic) Gate.

As you can see in the video, the two gate panels stack on top of each other when opening. This requires only half the wall space of a normal gate, leaving your entire car porch clear so you can park multiple cars without worrying about swing gates hitting your bumper! 🚗🚙

A word of caution: Telescopic gates require a very strong, reliable motor because pulling two overlapping panels is heavy work. We strictly pair these setups with heavy-duty motors like the FAAC 746 to ensure the gears don't wear out and the gate never gets jammed halfway.

Over time, old underground power cables can degrade, short-circuit, or get damaged by water and pests. When we assessed this property, we discovered the DEA motor was perfectly fine, but the incoming power supply had failed entirely.

Look at the photos to see our neat solution! Instead of hacking up the expensive driveway tiles, we ran a brand-new power line inside protective PVC trunking, tucking it neatly along the garden wall to reach the motor block safely.

Proper troubleshooting is the key to cost-effective maintenance. We find the actual fault so you don't waste money on unnecessary replacements! ✅

Does your sliding gate make a horrible, loud grinding noise every time you press the remote? 🙉

Don't ignore it! That noise is usually caused by a "dropped" or misaligned gear rack. When the heavy metal rack sits directly on the motor gear, the metal-on-metal friction will eventually destroy the internal bearings and kill your motor. 💸
