Nile Petroleum Corporation Public Relations Department Statement:

In response to the protesting staff regarding the decision to cut their salaries by 50%, the Nile Petroleum Corporation’s Public Relations department issued a statement to clarify the rationale behind this action. The reduction in payroll expenses was necessary as Nilepet sought to maintain operational continuity amid reduced revenue streams resulting from the force majeure situation.

The Public Relations department emphasized that the decision to reduce salaries was not taken lightly but was a strategic measure to ensure the sustainability of operations during challenging times. They highlighted that the force majeure event, which likely impacted the company’s revenue generation capabilities, necessitated cost-cutting measures to mitigate financial strain.

Furthermore, the statement reiterated that Nilepet values its employees and recognizes their dedication and hard work. The salary reduction was framed as a temporary measure aimed at weathering the current economic difficulties while safeguarding jobs and preserving the long-term viability of the company.

Employees were assured that management would continuously monitor the situation and explore opportunities to restore full salaries once conditions improved. The Public Relations department encouraged open communication and dialogue with employees to address concerns and provide updates on any developments affecting staff salary.
