The UNIQ hydraulic chucks have unlimited compatibility. DirectCool integration does not alter tool restriction, so existing processes can be continued without adjustments. Cost-efficiency and flexibility are also assured, as no expensive shank grooves are required and standard tools and/or tools without internal cooling can be used.
UNIQ DirectCool is already producing promising results, particularly in stainless steel and aluminium machining. The technology was officially presented at EMO 2025 in Hanover and represents a clear commitment to hydraulic clamping technology from MAPAL. For the market launch, DirectCool is optionally available for UNIQ Mill Chucks, HA and UNIQ DReaM Chucks with 4.5° outer geometry in diameters from 6 to 32 mm.

Global developments, trends and drivers are incorporated into its solution portfolio for critical components like the scroll compressor.
MAPAL has defined the scroll compressor as a critical component in the field of electromobility. It has very high demands with respect to the machining quality and is required in high quantities. With specifications that are sometimes less than 20 µm, the form of the scroll spirals and perpendicularity have very tight tolerances. A surface finish with an average roughness depth in the single micrometer range is required for the flawless functionality of both spirals in relation to one another.

MAPAL has a wide range of radial and tangential indexable inserts that covers all requirements for different cutting materials and coatings as well as the related cutting-edge geometries and accuracies. Ground, highly accurate indexable inserts in tolerance class (H) make possible, in conjunction with precisely machined insert seats, the smallest variations between the cutting edges on multi-cutting-edge tools, even in case of fixed installation, which provides a "real" multi-cutting-edge capability and as a result permits significant performance increase.

MAPAL presents the innovative HNHX indexable insert for the fine machining of valve seats – offering twelve usable cutting edges instead of just six.

This technology is used in the high-volume production of modern combustion engines for the machining of valve seat rings in passenger cars and commercial vehicles. In truck applications, where valve seats are larger, each cutting edge can be used twice, providing up to 24 applications per insert.

Using our combination tool for the combined machining of valve guide and seat in a single operation, manufacturers benefit from:
