Our Story

It is ICA | GemLab’s mission to positively and consistently contribute to the future of gemological science by pushing standards to a higher level of accuracy within the gemstone testing processes, and by delivering to the gem and jewelry trade, reliable and ethical high-quality services.

Our expertise comes from our unique ability to combine the knowledge of renowned gemologists with the latest technology available to inspect and identify your gemstone. Our experienced gemologists have a full understanding of the different gemological characteristics of the gemstones and their origin. This is especially relevant in today’s gemstones market with customers from around the world demanding a clear information about the colored gemstones they acquire and sell.

ICA | GemLab operates in accordance with the modern approach of gemstone testing, meaning full documentation of an unknown stone (submitted by our customers) is taken. After the documentation of the unknown sample is completed, its specific data set is compared to those of our documented and interpreted reference collection and data base covering samples of ruby, sapphire, emerald, alexandrite, spinel, Paraiba tourmaline and many more from the most important mines/localities all over the world.
