พื้นที่ค้นหา(Xplore)ต่อยอด(Xtend)และแลกเปลี่ยน(Xchange)นวัตกรรมองค์ความรู้ผ่านการทำงานและเรียนรู้ร่วมกันของภาครัฐ ภาคการศึกษา และภาคอุตสาหกรรมผ่านโครงสร้างTriple Helix ที่ภาครัฐและภาคการศึกษาร่วมกันสนับสนุนเป็นฐานให้ภาคธุรกิจ อุตสาหกรรมในหลากหลายมิติ มีเจตจำนงค์ในการดึงประเทศให้ออกจากกับดักกลุ่มประเทศรายได้ปานกลาง (Middle-income Trap) โดยอาศัยองค์ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีในการปรับสมดุลกลุ่มธุรกิจ SMEs ให้มีความแข็งแรง มีศักยภาพในการแข่งขันที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น สร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทั้งภายในและภายนอกประเทศสร้างให้เกิด collective impact ที่จะมีผลกระทบต่อสังคมในวงกว้าง เกิดการขับเคลื่อนกลไกเศรษฐกิจของประเทศอันจะส่งผลด้านคุณภาพชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ของสังคมที่ดีขึ้น
ภารกิจ
1) ส่งเสริมผู้ประกอบการรุ่นใหม่ (New Enterprise Promotion) ผ่านกลไกทางด้านการเงิน เทคโนโลยี การศึกษา และการออกแบบ
2) ให้ความช่วยเหลือทางเทคนิคสำหรับกิจการขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อม (Technical Assistance for SMEs)
3) เป็นเวที/ตลาด แลกเปลี่ยน สังเคราะห์ความรู้ต่อยอดในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย (Cluster Exchange/Collaboration for Technological Advancement)
4) การพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีเพื่อการพาณิชย์ (Commercialization of Tecnology) ผ่านการสนับสนุนจากเครือข่ายทางด้านเทคโนโลยี และการออกแบบ ตลอดจนเครือข่ายสนับสนุนการลงทุนทั้งจากภาคการเงิน และภาคอุตสาหกรรมด้วยกันเอง
5) การวิจัยและเสนอแนะนโยบายด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี (STI policy research)

Who are we? King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) is a leading university of technology in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Founded in 1960 as a technical college, KMUTT has matured into a research-intensive university with an excellent reputation for industry-relevant education and research, translational research and innovation. With about 18,000 students, 40% of which in engineering and one third postgraduates, KMUTT is a mid-sized university with a concentration in engineering, applied sciences, and select fields of technology such as energy and environmental technology, biotechnology, and information technology. These core areas are complimented by studies in the fields of management, art and design, technical education and learning, as well as liberal arts. What is KX? In 2015, KMUTT will take its industrial outreach and extension mission to a new height when a new venture called “Knowledge Exchange Center - KX” becomes operational. Wholly owned by KMUTT, this city facility is housed in a 20,000-sqr-meter modern tower, which is conveniently located just next to the Wongwian Yai BTS Station. The primary aim of this new initiative is to catalyse innovation in enterprises by creating an environment that would facilitate knowledge flow and stimulate the generation of ideas and innovation. Equipped with modern facilities and amenities, KX will be a place where industry players, knowledge and technology providers and public sector facilitators would meet, interact and showcase what they have to offer, so as to create partnerships and innovation alliances, and a culture of entrepreneurship. An important mission of KX is to assist SMEs in enhancing their capacity for productivity improvement and innovation, so as to better serve customers and add value to their value chain. What do we offer? • Office space where companies/agencies may utilize for liaison, conducting meetings, showcasing products, services and capabilities, and offering services such as design, consultancy and information provision
Technology market place and knowledge sharing space where meetings, lectures and training programs, seminars and workshops, conferences and exhibitions, and networking events can be held
New enterprise promotion facilities: Makerspace, Coworking space, and temporary office space for new enterprises and start-ups
Innovation Lab where we help grow innovators’ ventures at any stage of development for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, including showcasing and pitching innovative ideas and inventions to the public and interested parties.
Consulting services: technical assistance for SMEs and other public and private entities
Policy support studies: policy studies to support decision making for public agencies and enterprises by the newly established Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy Research Institute (STIPRI)
Access to KMUTT’s expertise, laboratories and equipment, pilot-scale research and production facilities, contract research, collaborative research, and customized education and training programs, etc.
