Flat Bottom Inspection & UT Measurement at Kerry Siam Sea Port, Thailand

MaxiDive recently completed an underwater flat bottom inspection supported by ultrasonic thickness measurement and HD CCTV monitoring at Kerry Siam Sea Port.

The operation included examination of selected bottom plating, underwater appendages and accessible structural areas while the vessel remained afloat.

The inspected flat bottom was generally found in satisfactory condition, while a localized area requiring further technical assessment was identified and documented.

Underwater Inspection and Partial Cleaning for CALM Buoy Assemblies in Sattahip

MaxiDive completed an underwater inspection and partial cleaning operation for CALM buoy assemblies at Mahidol Port, Sattahip, Thailand.

The work focused on selected underwater areas where marine fouling limited direct access to coating, steel and structural condition. Using surface-supplied diving equipment, HD inspection systems and hand tools, the diving team carried out targeted cleaning to support visual assessment and technical documentation.

The inspection covered key areas including buoy body sections, skirt structure, towing lugs, chain stopper areas and bottom sections. Heavy soft and hard marine growth was observed below the waterline. Selected cleaning allowed the team to inspect coating condition, weld seams and steel surface condition more clearly.

Findings included generally intact weld seam condition in the inspected areas, fair topcoat condition to the black paint layer, minor bare steel and corrosion in selected areas, and signs of contact damage with a bent profile at the skirt structure. No pitting or cracking was noted in the inspected cleaned zones.

This type of underwater inspection and partial cleaning is important for marine operators because fouling can hide coating wear, corrosion, deformation and other structural details. Targeted cleaning helps create access for inspection without turning the operation into a full cleaning scope.
