Yesterday In bangkok post rebates for domestic solar systems so can someone tell PEA as we have 50 clients approved for FIT scheme but 270 days observation period and no indications of what yields they expect in order to offer contract stuff and nonsense in my view but hope this scheme gets off ground let’s see

A new tax reduction scheme for households that install rooftop solar panels is expected to be finalised by mid-year in an effort to reduce electricity bills and carbon dioxide emissions, says the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE).

The Energy Regulatory Commission of Thailand has set new electricity charges, ranging from 4.68 baht to 5.95 baht/unit from January until April, 2024.

The price from September until December this year has been 3.99 baht/unit.

At its meeting today, the commission approved an 89.55 satang/unit Fuel Tariff (FT) for the January-April period, which will raise the price of electricity to an average of 69.07 satang/unit. When adding in the power base rate of 3.78 baht/unit, the new price of electricity will average 4.68 baht/unit, excluding VAT.

The commission said that it took into consideration the impacts of the new pricing on consumers, but also took into account the financial security of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the main electricity producer in Thailand.

It also said that the adjustment is in line with increased fuel costs, which EGAT will have to partially absorb while being able to settle its debts and maintain a cash flow sufficient to continue its operations.

The commission said that it did enable members of the public to express their opinions, regarding the price increase of power, from November 10th to 24th before it made the decision today

Electric car update

As BEV growth increases, we expect significant growth opportunities to emerge throughout the entire BEV supply chain, including in EV lithium-ion battery production and lithium mining. Global EV battery manufacturing capacity is expected to explode over the next decade from 631GWh in 2020 to 2,913GWh in 2030.36 Europe is becoming the fastest-growing region for EV battery production outside of China. The region’s EV battery cell production pipeline capacity could increase to more than 789GWh by 2030, which is enough to produce 15 million BEVs each year.37 Conversely, the lithium market faces its largest-ever shortage in 2022, due to delays in new mining projects from the COVID-19 pandemic.38 Lithium mining needs to ramp up even more quickly over the coming years than currently planned to avoid a long-term deficit, higher EV costs, and weakened EV demand.39

I wanted to send you a message and an update on our solar installation success. In January of this year we fully recovered our investment of ฿330,000. 3 years and 1 month to recover. Dec. 16, 2018 installed and recovered investment Jan. 16, 2022. Now it’s all profit! To date we have produced 47.91 MWh.
