Happy to share our research collaboration with Ubon Ratchathani University.

📄 Partial replacement of concentrate with fermented cassava products in Thai native × Lowline Angus cattle: effects on nutrient utilization and rumen fermentation

Our study evaluated cassava tops and fermented cassava pulp as alternative cattle feeds. The findings highlight the importance of choosing appropriate replacement levels to support nutrient utilization and rumen fermentation.

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Anusorn Cherdthong to the Animals Editorial Board in the Animal Nutrition Section!

Based at the Tropical Feed Resources Research and Development Center (TROFREC), Khon Kaen University, Thailand, Prof. Cherdthong’s expertise includes rumen fermentation, sustainable nutrition, methane emissions, novel feeds, and feed additives.

His research also explores non-conventional forages, agricultural and agro-industrial by-products, insects, algae, and bio-circular economy approaches, contributing to more sustainable and innovative animal nutrition.

🎓 Today, as Chair of the Animal Science Graduate Program, I presented the revised Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Animal Science to the University Curriculum Review Committee.

The revised curriculum is being developed for implementation in 2027, with a focus on strengthening academic quality, research skills, professional competencies, and preparing our students for future challenges in animal science and livestock production.

We sincerely thank all committee members, faculty colleagues, and everyone involved for their valuable suggestions and contributions to the improvement of our graduate programs.

🧬 Teaching Biotechnology in Animal Nutrition for 3rd-year Animal Science students.

Students explore how biotechnology, fermentation, enzymes, probiotics, and modern feed technologies can improve feed quality, nutrient utilization, and sustainable livestock production.

Through active learning, group discussions, case-based activities, and student presentations, they apply biotechnology concepts to real challenges in animal nutrition.
