ศูนย์ปฏิบัติการเชื่อมต่อสัญญาณสมองด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล (BCI Lab) มุ่งเน้นการวิจัยและพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีโดยประยุกต์ใช้องค์ความรู้ทางด้านวิศวกรรมชีวการแพทย์ เพื่อช่วยเหลือและพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้พิการและผู้สูงอายุ ตลอดจนการนำเทคโนโลยีไปสู่การใช้งานจริง
ในปี 2567 นี้ ทางทีมได้เตรียมเทคโนโลยีและนักกีฬาเพื่อเข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน “Cybathlon 2024” การประกวดเทคโนโลยีผู้พิการระดับโลก ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 25-27 ตุลาคม 2567 ณ เมืองซูริค ประเทศสวิสเซอร์แลนด์ โดยมีผู้เข้าแข่งขันมากกว่า 70 ทีม จาก 23 ประเทศทั่วโลก สำหรับการแข่งขัน Cybathlon ผู้พิการจะใช้เทคโนโลยีที่แต่ละทีมพัฒนาขึ้นเพื่อปฏิบัติภารกิจต่าง ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการดำเนินชีวิตประจำวันของผู้พิการ โดยในปีนี้ ทางทีมได้เข้าแข่งขันในรายการ Brain-Computer Interface Race (การควบคุมการเคลื่อนที่ด้วยคลื่นสมอง) ซึ่งจะถ่ายทอดสดไปทั่วโลก
ผู้ชมชาวไทยสามารถรับชมการแข่งขันและร่วมให้กำลังใจตัวแทนประเทศไทยได้ทาง Live Facebook เพจ BCI LAB และ Livestream บน www.cybathlon.com ในวันศุกร์ที่ 25 ตุลาคม ตั้งแต่เวลา 19:20 เป็นต้นไป
With applied biomedical engineering knowledge, Mahidol BCI Lab focuses on research and development of cutting-edge technologies for assisting and elevating the quality of life of people with disabilities and the elderly, as well as bringing these technologies to practical uses.
In 2024, the team has prepared technologies and athlete to compete in “Cybathlon 2024”, a global competition for assistive technology. The competition will be held from October 25-27, at Zurich, Switzerland, with over 70 teams from 23 countries. In Cybathlon, people with disabilities will use technologies developed by each team to perform various tasks related to daily living. This year, Mahidol BCI Lab will compete in the Brain-Computer Interface Race which will be broadcast live worldwide.
