🌏 Strengthening Energy Cooperation Across Southeast Asia

B.Grimm Power and GE Vernova have signed new energy collaboration agreements covering projects in Thailand and Malaysia, announced during GASTECH 2026 in Bangkok.

The cooperation includes long-term maintenance services for B.Grimm Power’s gas turbine power plants in Thailand, as well as the supply of gas turbines and generators for a new IPP combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) project under development in Malaysia.

The partnership highlights the continued development of reliable energy infrastructure and cross-border energy cooperation across Southeast Asia, supporting the region’s growing industrial and economic needs.

🌊 ACEN and CIP Advance 901 MW San Miguel Bay Offshore Wind Project in the Philippines ｜ September 2026

🇵🇭 The San Miguel Bay Offshore Wind Project in the Philippines has made important progress. ACEN Corporation and Denmark-based Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) are jointly advancing the project, which could become one of the first large-scale offshore wind projects in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

⚡ Key figures:
• 901 MW planned capacity
• Around US$3 billion estimated investment
• 25% stake held by ACEN
• CIP remains the majority partner

Located in San Miguel Bay, Camarines Sur, the project benefits from strong wind resources, relatively shallow waters, proximity to shore and grid infrastructure, and lower exposure to typhoon conditions compared with more open offshore sites.
The project has reached several important milestones, including a Wind Energy Service Contract, Green Lane status, recognition as an Energy Project of National Significance, environmental approvals, and a Grid Connection Agreement signed in February 2025.
The project is also expected to participate in the Philippines’ Green Energy Auction, the country’s first auction round dedicated to offshore wind.

💡 Our Market View
Beyond its 901 MW scale, what stands out to me is the combination of local development expertise, international investment, grid readiness and government support.
The Philippines is becoming a market to watch closely. The key question for Southeast Asia is now increasingly about which offshore wind projects can move from development to construction first.

🌍 Vestas Secures 137 MW in New Wind Orders Across Europe and Latin America

Vestas has secured two new overseas wind turbine orders in August, totaling 137 MW across Europe and Latin America, adding to growing signs of recovery in global wind turbine demand. 📈

In Italy 🇮🇹, Vestas received a 65 MW order for an undisclosed project, featuring approximately 10 V162-6.5 MW turbines and a 25-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Delivery and commissioning are scheduled for the second half of 2027.

In Peru 🇵🇪, the 72 MW Emma Wind Farm in Piura selected Vestas as its turbine supplier. The project will deploy 16 V163-4.5 MW turbines with a 119-metre hub height. Major components are expected to be delivered in Q2 2027, with commissioning and grid connection targeted for Q1 2028. ⚡🏗️

The Emma project marks Vestas’ return to the Peruvian market with its 4 MW platform. Vestas has operated in Peru for more than a decade and currently provides service for 62 turbines totaling around 100 MW.

The new orders come amid improving financial performance. In Q2 2026, Vestas reported 26.1% year-on-year revenue growth and a 9.4% EBIT margin before special items, while raising its full-year EBIT margin guidance to 7–9%. 📊
