Nevzat Karalp ve ailesi tarafından kurulan ve her geçen gün büyümeye devam eden Kardemir, 1986’da Denizli’ de başlayan üretim faaliyetlerine 1997’de İzmir fabrikalarını eklemiş ve her yıl üretimlerini artırarak büyümeye devam etmiştir. Kendi bünyesinde yer alan özverili 1250’den fazla çalışanı ve diğer tüm paydaşlarıyla yerel ekonomiye ve istihdama katkı sağlama vizyonu ve kazandığı başarıları ile önemli bir sanayi kuruluşudur. Kardemir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş., üç profil fabrikası ve bir inşaat demiri ve filmaşin üreten fabrikası ve tüm bunlara hammadde sağlayan çelikhane fabrikası, bir hava ayrıştırma tesisi ve bir karbon fabrikası olmak üzere yedi ayrı üretim tesisiyle, ihracat ve iç piyasaya yönelik olarak üretim faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.
İzmir Aliağa Biçerova tren istasyonu yanında yer alan Kardemir Çelik Üretim Tesisi’nde, 60 bin m2 kapalı ve 185 bin m2 açık alan üzerinde ileri teknolojilerle donatılmış Çelikhane; Filmaşin ve İnşaat Demiri Üretim Tesisi; oksijen, azot ve argon üretimi yapan Hava Ayrıştırma Tesisi ve Karbon Üretim Tesisi bulunmaktadır.
2022 yılında faaliyete geçen Kardemir Çelikhanesi, FESCON sistemli ark ocağıyla kütük demir üretmekte olup 1.200.000 ton/yıl üretim kapasitesine sahiptir. FESCON sistemine sahip 100 tonluk elektrikli ark ocağıyla atık ısıdan geri dönüşüm sistemi sayesinde üretimde %15 ile %30 arası enerji tasarrufu sağlanmaktadır. Kardemir Çelik Üretim Tesisinde yer alan Çelikhane, Türkiye’de kendi alanında en yeni teknolojiye sahip üretim tesislerinden bir tanesi olma özelliği taşımaktadır. Çelikhanede üretilen kütük demirler yine Kardemir’e ait Profil ve İnşaat Demiri fabrikalarına hammadde sağlamaktadır. Kardemir, kütükten üretim yapan toplam 4 ayrı haddeleme fabrikasına sahiptir.
2023 yılında faaliyete geçen Filmaşin ve İnşaat Demiri Üretim Tesisi 600.000 ton/yıl üretim kapasitesine sahiptir. Türkiye’nin en uzun filmaşin ve inşaat demiri soğutma hatlarından bir tanesi olma özelliği taşıyan tesiste, üretimden paketlemeye kadar tüm süreç tamamen otomasyon ile ilerlemektedir. İnşaat sektörü başta olmak üzere İnşaat Teli Çeken Tesisler, Çivi Üreticileri, Çelik Hasır Üreticileri, Elektrot Üreticileri, Cıvata Üreticileri, Zincir Üreticileri, Yatak Yayı Üreticileri, Çelik Halat Üreticileri, Lastik Tel Üreticileri, Zırh Teli Üreticileri ve Transmisyon Üreticileri gibi sektörlere yönelik filmaşin üretimi yapmaktadır. Kardemir, Denizli Profil Fabrikası ve İzmir Aliağa’daki 2 adet İzmir Profil Fabrikaları olmak üzere toplam 3 ayrı tesiste profil demir üretmektedir. Profil tesisleri 700.000 ton/yıl üretim kapasitesine sahiptir. Kardemir Çelik Sanayi tesislerinde, 10.000 kalem ürüne varan çeşitlilikte üretim yapılmaktadır. Bu ürünler kütük demir, filmaşin, inşaat demiri; ticari ve yapısal profiller olarak ana gruplara ayrılmaktadır. Yine Kardemir Çelik Sanayi AŞ’ye ait olan İzmir Aliağa’da bulunan 19,7 MW’lık güce sahip Kardemir rüzgâr enerjisi santrali Bozyaka RES, yıllık 55 milyon KW elektrik üretimi kapasitesine sahiptir. Kurulumu tamamlanan 3.98 MW’lık güce sahip Çatı GES santrali yıl sonuna kadar devreye alınacaktır.
Ürünlerinin %50’den fazlası ihracat yolu ile dünya pazarlarında kullanılmaktadır. Kardemir’in 2023 yılı ihracat rakamı 225.000.00 USD seviyesine yaklaşmıştır. İhracatta Ege Bölgesi’nde 10. sıradadır.
Ürün gamı dahilinde uluslararası standartlarda üretim faaliyetlerine devam eden Kardemir Çelik Sanayi, 2023 yılı verilerine göre, 110’dan fazla ülkeye gerçekleştirdiği ihracatla Türkiye’nin en büyük 1000 firması arasında 121. sırada; Türkiye’nin ilk 500 sanayi kuruluşu arasında 110. sırada (Kardemir 10 yıldan fazla süredir ISO 500 listesinde yer almaktadır) ve Ege Bölgesi’nin en 100 büyük sanayi kuruluşu arasında 10. Kardemir Steel Mill, which started operating in 2022, produces steel billet with the FESCON system arc furnace and has a production capacity of 1,200,000 tons/year. Thanks to the 100-ton electric arc furnace with the FESCON system and the waste heat recycling system, energy savings of 15% to 30% are achieved in production. The Steel Mill, located in the Kardemir Steel Production Facility, is one of the production facilities with the latest technology in its field in Turkey. Steel billet which is produced in the steel mill provides raw materials to Kardemir’s Steel Profile factory and Steel Reinforcement Bar & Wire Rod factories. Kardemir has a total of 4 separate rolling factories producing from steel billet. The Steel Wire Rod and Reinforcement Bar Production Facility, which started operating in 2023, has a production capacity of 600,000 tons/year. The entire process from production to packaging, in the facility which is one of the longest wire rod and rebar cooling lines in Turkey, is completely automated. It produces wire rod for sectors such as Construction Wire Drawing Facilities, Nail Manufacturers, Steel Mesh Producers, Electrode Manufacturers, Bolt Manufacturers, Chain Manufacturers, Bed Spring Manufacturers, Steel Rope Manufacturers, Rubber Wire Manufacturers, Armor Wire Manufacturers and Transmission Manufacturers, especially for the construction industry. Kardemir produces steel profile in a total of 3 separate facilities: 1 Denizli Steel Profile Rolling Mill and 2 Steel Profile Rolling Mills in İzmir Aliağa. Profile facilities have a production capacity of 700,000 tons/year. A variety of up to 10,000 items of product are produced in Kardemir Çelik Sanayi facilities. These products include steel billet, wire rod, reinforcement bar; they are divided into main groups as commercial and structural profiles. Kardemir wind power plant Bozyaka RES, with a power of 19.7 MW and located in Izmir Aliağa, also owned by Kardemir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş, has an annual electricity production capacity of 55 million KW. The roof solar power plant, whose installation has been completed, has a power of 3.98 MW and will be put into operation by the end of the year. More than 50% of its steel products are used in world markets through export. Kardemir’s steel export figure for 2023 has approached the level of USD 225,000.00. It ranks 10th in the Aegean Region in exports. Kardemir Çelik Sanayi, which continues its production activities at international standards within its product range, ranks 121st among Turkey’s 1000 largest companies with its exports to more than 100 countries, according to 2023 data; It ranks 110th among Turkey’s top 500 industrial enterprises (Kardemir has been on the ISO 500 list for more than 10 years) and 10th among the 100 largest industrial enterprises of the Aegean Region. According to Denizli Chamber of Industry data, it is the 3rd largest enterprise in Denizli in 2023.
