Back on site with BBV on HS2 near Birmingham — where this system is being deployed across a 16-mile stretch of viaduct sidewalls.

At that scale, the challenge isn’t casting a wall.

Conventional approaches — ground-based cranage, winching, external handling — quickly become inefficient.

So the solution had to be engineered differently.

Working with the client and Forkast Engineering, DEMA supported the development and delivery of a system tailored to these constraints:

✦ Deck-handled formwork using a side-shift forklift — removing ground-based lifting
✦ Pincer lifting for controlled release and precise lateral movement
✦ Single- and double-wall capability across phases
✦ Heavy-duty steel units designed for repeat cycles at infrastructure scale

This isn’t just about forming concrete.

It’s about making engineered solutions work in real site conditions —
where constraints are constant, and every cycle matters.

Because over 16 miles, inefficiencies don’t stay small.

We’re proud to announce the delivery of a specialised beam formwork system to Poland — our 44th active country.

This was not standard order delivery Dema, working closely with our client, developed a fully integrated precast production system, engineered to improve cycle times, efficiency, and output quality, drawing upon our experience as a global provider of automation optimized precast concrete substation solutions and applying to precast beam formwork manufacture optimization.

2 x 88.5m beam production lines
Integrated steam curing system across the full length
Insulated formwork casing, directing heat efficiently into the concrete
Full-length hydraulic opening and closing system
Pre-stressed structure, with stressed end and mid plates for prestressed beam production
Adjustable system, producing varying beam lengths and beam heights from 600 mm to 1100 mm
Synchronized adjustable pre-stressing table, aligned with section changes
