A coating can look perfect on the surface — but what really matters is how it performs after application.

In this test, we prepared two coated panels from the same coating system.

One panel was used for a wear resistance test to evaluate the coating’s durability under repeated abrasion. The second panel was tested for adhesion to check how firmly the coating bonds to the substrate.

For industrial non-stick coatings, appearance is only one part of the story. Adhesion, wear resistance, thickness, curing conditions, and surface performance all work together to determine the final coating quality.

When it comes to coating performance, seeing is believing.

This time, we went directly to the customer’s site to test our primer under real application conditions. Instead of relying only on laboratory data or technical specifications, we believe the best way to prove coating performance is to test it where the coating is actually being used.

In this video, we check the primer thickness and carry out an adhesion test to evaluate the coating performance. These tests help us understand whether the coating has been applied within the required thickness range and whether the adhesion is strong enough for the customer’s production needs.

For us, coating development is not simply about providing a product and saying it works. We focus on real application, real testing, and real results.

When a customer gives us a sample and asks us to reproduce the same color, is matching the appearance enough?

For us, definitely not.

In this case, the customer provided us with a coating sample for color matching. We produced two matching samples with different coating thicknesses, then compared them directly with the original sample.

Why do we do this?

Because professional coating development is never just about making the color look similar. Color, gloss, coating thickness, surface uniformity, and overall appearance can all affect the final result.

That’s why we don’t simply look at the samples and say, “They look the same.”

We measure. We compare. We check the details.

From color matching to thickness control, every step matters when you want consistent and reliable coating performance.

This is also how we approach customized coating development for our customers — not just reproducing what they can see, but controlling the details behind it.

How can we evaluate the real non-stick performance of a high-performance coating? A simple milk film test can show the difference.

In this test, we applied milk onto the PEEK coating surface to form a uniform milk film. After rinsing with running water, the milk residue was easily removed without additional cleaning agents, demonstrating the smooth surface and excellent non-stick performance of the coating.

Can you match the exact color and finish of a coating sample?

This is something we do regularly.

Our customers often bring us their existing coating samples or color panels and ask us to develop a coating with a similar color, gloss, and overall appearance. Sometimes, it is not only about matching the color — they also need the new coating to look brighter, smoother, or closer to the original surface.

In this case, the customer provided us with two samples and asked us to reproduce the colors while achieving a brighter finish.

Our R&D team adjusted the formulation, fine-tuned the color, and carefully controlled the gloss and surface appearance. After testing and production, the final samples were ready.

The result? The color and brightness were successfully matched to the customer's requirements, and the customer was very satisfied with the final result.

Three black coatings — but are they really the same?

Although all three samples look black, they are actually designed for different coating processes and can deliver different performance.

This was my first time visiting this customer’s factory, so we didn’t know exactly which product would be the best match for their production line. We also didn’t yet know all of their specific requirements, application conditions, or testing standards.

So, why choose only one?

I brought all three samples to the factory and tested them under their actual production conditions. After applying the primers, the samples were baked, and we checked the coating thickness to make sure the coating was smooth and stable.

For industrial coatings, appearance is only one part of the story. The right product needs to match the application process, equipment, curing conditions, and the final performance required by the customer.

Sometimes, the best way to find the right coating is simply to test it.

High-Temperature Curing | Smooth & Dense PTFE Coating Film

Every factory test is the best way to prove product quality. This time, we brought our PF-600A water-based PTFE primer and PF-600B water-based PTFE topcoat to our customer's factory for an on-site trial.
