We’re delighted to share that our founder, Özgül Öztürk, will be speaking as part of the Arup Masterclass Series on 16 June.

The session will explore the relationship between materials, memory and belonging, and how earth-based materials, local knowledge and participatory design can help reconnect people, place and ecology.

This conversation also builds on ideas explored through Belonging Is Built Here, Özgül’s installation for the London Festival of Architecture.

An invitation to our London connections and to friends whose path may bring them to London in the coming days 🌿

In just a few days, Belonging Is Built Here will open at RSA House, as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

The participatory installation explores belonging through memory, material, circularity and collective experience, inviting visitors to contribute their own stories and reflections.

As part of the programme, our founder will also take part in a public conversation on 2 June:

Belonging: Who Builds It, Who Belongs?

The discussion will be moderated by Eva Pascoe, Vice Chair and Trustee of the RSA.Joining the conversation will be Dinah Casson CBE RDI and our founder, Özgül Öztürk. Together, they will explore how belonging is shaped through space, material, memory and participation, and how our relationship with place deepens over time.

Bir yeri kim inşa eder… ve kim o yere ait olur?

Aidiyet, fiziksel bir çevrenin yanısıra, malzemenin, üretim süreçlerinin ve topluluk ilişkilerinin birlikte kurduğu çok katmanlı bir deneyimdir. Özgül Öztürk'ün konuşmacı olarak yer alacağı bu panel, mimarlığın bu katmanlar arasındaki rolünü sorgulayarak, bir yerin kim tarafından ve nasıl “ait” kılındığını tartışmaya açıyor.
