The Shipyard was founded in the 1980s and after joining under the flag of SNR Holding in 2003 it has been renamed as Istanbul Shipyard, which was followed by a large reconstruction process. Finally, together with SNR Shipyard and ABS Metal being a branch of Istanbul Shipyard, the total shipyard area has reached to 34,500 m2 having an enclosed area of 14,400 m2. Istanbul Shipyard is endowed with the amazing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) infrastructure using IFS software of integrated business solution. The IFS ERP solution covers material management, project management, work order management, document management, time reporting, human resources and financials. Shipyard’s project management department is divided in powerful groups for electrics, electronics, outfitting, underwater and rescue systems coordinated by the project managers for the perfect design, installation and integration of the required systems on the ships. The Shipyard is working in close cooperation with a major design company of Turkey, called “Seft Design” which is also a subsidiary of SNR Holding. Seft Design Company has a skilful and well-equipped team of approx. 45 naval architects, marine and mechanical engineers. They supply ship designs also to the different customers in Turkey and abroad. The association of Seft Design and Istanbul Shipyard putting their signatures on unique projects creates a great advantage. Istanbul Shipyard studies on a significant R&D project called “Milper”. Within the scope of this project, it is aimed to design and produce fixed or controllable pitch propellers, propeller shafts and silencers with our own resources and with a unique design. Additionally, we have the Facility and Personnel Security Clearance Certificates in both National and NATO levels issued by the Ministry of Defense.
