Port Baku Garden Walkway – A First in Baku: Terrazzo Stone Façade Systems

Polatoglu Metal Co. Inc. proudly delivered the Port Baku Garden Walkway project for North West Construction, one of the largest and most reputable construction companies in Baku. This project marks the first-ever application of terrazzo stone façade systems in the city, successfully implemented by Polatoglu.

Innovative Systems Applied in the Project

The substructure was reinforced using Hilti Undercut anchors and a steel supporting frame.

The terrazzo façade system incorporates Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂ – photocatalytic) components, providing a self-cleaning surface.

No artificial pigments were used; all colors were achieved through crushed natural quartz stones mixed in controlled ratios.

Glass fiber reinforcement and polymer binders increased the stone’s structural strength.

U-shaped stones were bonded using advanced assembly techniques to ensure long-term durability.

This pioneering approach carried significant challenges, yet Polatoglu Metal Co. Inc. executed the project flawlessly, contributing to one of Baku’s most remarkable architectural achievements.
