Dr. Mustafa TOLAY
Energy and Environment Consultant
He was born at 1955 in Istanbul / Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) with M.Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering and completed an MBA program at the Istanbul University(I.U.). His field of Masters and PhD (postgraduate) studies were about Renewable Energy, Coal Combustion, Coal Liquefaction and Gasification. A
fter his promotion he got a scholarship from the University of Leeds in England and was employed by Henkel Inc. as well at Pak Gıda Inc. where he worked as a researcher, manager and consultant. He has been researching on the fields of renewable energy, coal technologies, combustion, gasification, thermal energy, biogas, environment and solid waste recycling subjects and in this regard constructing plants for 30 years. He has 80 scientific publications and international science awards. Dr. Mustafa Tolay provided engineering consultancy in different countries of the world and attended many projects for the construction of various energy and environmental plants especially for Waste To Energy Sector. Since 2007, he is the Technical Coordinator and Board Member of the DETES Energy and Environment Technology Systems Co. Ltd. And also since beginning of 2011 he is Owner and Technical Coordinator for TOLAY Energy Co. He is representative of two spanish companies, VERCO SL and EQTEC Iberia. Meanwhile he is giving lectures and cooperating investigations at diverse universities and research centers. With his newly developed projects in combustion, gasification, energy and environment subjects, he took out many international patents and licensies. Beside being Quality Assurance Auditor and Energy Management Expert, Dr Mustafa Tolay is also an active member of many different nongovermental organisations and social unions such as American Chemical Society, American Institute of Energy in USA, Galatasaray Rotary Club in Istanbul/Turkey and is a member of Scientific Committee of the World Underwater Sports Federation. He is General Secretery of Bioenergy Association of Turkey. He is married and has a daughter. He is a team member of Turkish Licensor of BGL (British Gas Lurgi) through signing the Licence Agreement with the Envirotherm GmbH from Germany on 15th of May 2008, starting the Construction /Installation of in Turkey, Methanol Production Plant (120.000 t/a) and 75
MWel electricity production with the BGL Gasification System after signing an agreement. His companies have technical licensies of Envirotherm GmbH and A.E.V. Energy GmbH. He is still team leader as consultant of projects of UNIDO and UNDP on renewable energy. Dr. Mustafa Tolay
