Şehitkamil Art Center
The city has distinguished types of urban spaces that identified according to its spot and its surrounding elements. Therefore, and after it awarded as the best green park according to the Organization For open space and recreation. Gaziantep Municipality Park plays an essential role in Urban spaces study and considers as a breathing vacuum inside the city center of Gaziantep. In contrast to that, the old city which contains the mosque and the copper-smith Bazaar has narrow linear spaces similar to streets more than spaces that what gives Gaziantep's invaluable historical spirit. Şehitkamil Art Center will be located in the area in between the previously mentioned areas. So,its space scale should hold a social character set between human scale and city scale.
Conceptual Analysis Depends on:
Space?
The competition area located in a spot surrounded by eight stories residential buildings and faced Gaziantep Municipality building.
Why a box?
The orthogonal grid limits rectangular shapes which considered as determinants to any project. Logically, a box is an appropriate volume to the competition.
Floating over ...
According to the previous point of view, a box might be a heavy block so lifting it up allowed to create a light floating mass with a social space under it.
Transparency and interaction:
Transparent theater sides present a visual axis that provides continuity for the central social space. Glass interior facades allow users to interact visually with each other.
Gaziantep şehrin kentsel alanları bulunduğu yere ve çevresine özgü bir kimliğe sahiptir. Bu nedenle açık alan ve rekreasyon alanı organizasyonu alanında en iyi yeşil park ödülü almıştır. Gaziantep Belediye Park'ı şehir merkezinin kentsel tasarımı bağlamında önemli bir role sahiptir ve şehre nefes aldıran bir konumdadır. Bunun aksine, Bakırcılar Çarşısı ve camiyi içinde barındıran şehir merkezi, dar çizgisel mekanlarıyla Gaziantep şehrine tarihi kimliğini verir.
Şehitkamil Sanat Merkezi yukarıda bahsedilen alanların arasında yer alır. Yani, tasarlanan bu alanın sosyal karakteri, şehir ve insan ölçeği arasında bir köprü olmalıdır.
Konsept Analizi aşağıdakilere bağlıdır:
Mekan?
Yarışma alanı, bir cephesinde Gaziantep Belediye binası ve diğer cephelerde ise sekiz katlı konut yapılarıyla çevrelenmiş bir alandır.
Neden bir kutu?
Ortogonal bir grid sistemi alanı dikdörtgensel alanlara ayırır. Bu yüzden kutu bu alan için uygun bir hacme sahiptir.
Yapının yüzmesi
Bir önceki bakış açısına göre, kutu ağır bir hacim olabilir. Bu yüzden onu yukarı kaldırarak altında elde edilen alana sosyal mekan fonksiyonu verilmiştir.
Saydamlık ve etkileşim:
Çok amaçlı salonun saydam parçaları orta sosyal alanla bir görsel ilişki içerisindedir e iç mekandaki saydam yüzeyler bu ilişkiyi güçlendirecek niteliktedir.
