Precious metals such as brass and bronze require constant care as the patina and/or protective coating fades away eventually
exposing the metal to the elements which causes oxidization. To restore requires special care which includes stripping and
reapplying a patina, followed by applying a protective sealing.

We restored this piece, by the talented Cuban artist Dunieski, to its original beauty.

The client requested to place the cannon as a decorative piece in this unique way.

To do this, we extended the bottom step to accommodate a 9” drill pipe with an iron cup welded together which held the cannon on its cascabel vertically. An iron collar was also placed around the upper section and bolted to the wall as part of the installation. Needless to say because of the heavy weight, a Hiab was essential for this job. With our high skilled workers and astute project management, the job was done in a timely fashion to the client’s satisfaction.

A continuation of last week's post.. A closer look into the Restoration of the Cenotaph, Memorial Park, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Removing the 50+ layers of paint which for decades covered the beautiful 150 million year old Portland Stone. This was done was done via an intricate and sensitive process, that of steaming the paint off.

A continuation of yesterday's post on the restoration of the magnificent 42' Cenotaph at Memorial Park, Port of Spain, Trinidad. The first photograph is of the tar-like substance (particulate matter from the exhaust of vehicles) that accumulated over 40 years. As you can see, we were actually extracting solid substance like asphalt from the statue. Our company, One by One Management Services Limited, cleaned and resealed the bronze statues, restoring them to their original beauty.

One by One Management Services Ltd. restored the magnificent 42’ Cenotaph at Memorial Park, Port of Spain, Trinidad in 2018. We were commissioned to clean and reseal the bronze statues and brass plaques, to remove the industrial grey paint on the exquisite granite stairs surrounding the Cenotaph and lastly to remove the 50+ layers of paint which for decades covered the beautiful 150 million year old Portland Stone. With our team of highly skilled and specialized workers, we were able to do the job right, restoring the monument to it’s original state. For example, the removal of the paint from the Portland Stone was done via an intricate and sensitive process, that of steaming the paint off. The granite stairs and brass plaques were also dealt with in a similar fashion taking every precaution to ensure that the fabric of each part of the structure was safeguarded. The Port of Spain Corporation highly commended our restorative work as they continue to engage our services.

Our team was able to put things right with the unfinished work of past contractors of this party wall. The outcome was pleasing to the eye as we were able to correct the indiscretions. All excess mortar was chipped off and thereafter the wall was rubbed with a cement wash. The final outcome was an absolute delight to the client.

This shows a small section of the 100ft wall which contains 9 such columns.

The owner was about to install a 400 gallon water tank in this back area, however we came up with a design which was able to satisfy the owner and all aspects of the job.

The space was transformed by installing and concealing two 200 gallon water tanks and pump system (with easy access for servicing) on either side of the newly constructed steps which was reconfigured in a more practical and comfortable manner.

Ceramic tiles were used for both stairs and patio while a simple brick wall, capped with timber, enclosed the area.

All in all, this project transformed the back patio into a beautiful, ambient area. It has become a well utilized space for the tenant who loves her plants and outdoor entertainment.

Another joyful project by One by One Management Services Limited 👍

The entire kitchen was redone due to a termite infestation. In order to avoid a similar occurrence, the material used included PCV boards, appamat wood and topped with a quartz countertop. The installation was done over a four-day period to the satisfaction to the client.

Installed over 60 years ago, this beautiful mosaic entrance was in need of a revamp. This involved the removal of stains and marks which had been there for 10+ years. Also, a few of the mosaic tiles were missing which we substituted with new tiles made via our 3D printer. Any chemicals used in the cleaning process were eco-friendly and upon completion of the cleaning, a sealant was applied giving it a lustrous finish.
